  1. Couples that watch Jools Holland’s Hootenanny doomed to split
  2. Bros. First time around anyway, Ken and a session guy.
  3. At least they haven't got U2 on the board!
  4. This is how all band sackings should be done!
  5. I have no competition
  6. I saw Cliff when he headlined Wembley Stadium. Cracking gig. He is of the generation who put on a show and entertain the audience. In reply to the OP, IMO it is because for some people being a musician/performer is not what they do, it's what they are.
  7. i'm gonna buy Granny a gas cooker, and myself some broad band.
  8. And don't forget to buy through a cashback website if at all possible.
  9. In terms of Radio - which I only listen to in the motor: TalkSport Classic FM Absolute Radio Radio 4. I wouldn't say there is an 80/20 split between Classic & Absolute.
  10. and the fact that Clarky is no longer on the forum...
  11. I guess Frank Sinatra outshone the Tommy Dorsey Band?
  12. 'The beach on Bass', played fretless in Rockbitch. ok, the profanity filter changed that. Her chosen moniker was 'The B1tch on Bass'.
  13. Anyway back on topic: Stevie Nicks
  14. true. George always said that had it not been for Andy, not only would there have not been Wham!, but there would also never have been George Michael. Even on the writing though, he co-wrote some of the really early stuff, and helped launch George as a solo artiste by co-writing Careless Whisper.
  15. Fidays's gig, a night of firsts. First time the pub had live music (the landlord had seen us twice before, once at a pub we played where he was on a jolly with other landlords/ladies, and then when he was doing holiday cover at another pub we played), first ever fretless gig for me, and first bass gig with no FX ! Basswise things went ok, but I'm not confident enough with my pitching to not look at the fretboard, which did affect backing vocals at times. Something to work on. It was a big pub, with 4 distinct areas, so not the easiest place to play, but we got the punters in and singing along, so result.
  16. but when that headline reads as 'you're a twonk', maybe not so good?
  17. no I don't. No home internet. I do have free channels on Sky.
  18. Whatever happened to Scuzzman?
  19. Thin J, flat D profile, works for me. But I have small hands.
  20. Another shout for the Snapdragon bass. Both Happy Jack and I have one.
  21. The music has received a bit of a slating, but I don't think it's too bad. Not that I'd go and see them, mind...
  22. Now just 4's with an extended fretboard for me. But when I was playing both, I found the B string on a 5 was the thumb-rest, but the top of the pup was the usual thumb-rest for a 4. Funnily enough I never had any problems playing a 6. Took right to it. But that may have been the bass, a rather tasty Shuker 6 with an amazingly thin flat neck.
  23. We're a 3 piece no keys. It's noticeable! ☺
