  1. When La Bamba was number one in the hit parade, it was not because the British record buying public had become fluent in Spanish. Rammstein's substantial fanbase are not all fluent in German. Unless one is contriving to be controversial or inflammatory, lyrics do not matter a jot. Which is what this song proved:
  2. Creep - The Radio Head.
  3. Arrived today! One of the signed ones 😁
  4. Thanks for the replies, will give it a go.
  5. So on this rainy afternoon, I've decided to give home recording a go, after having Studio One 3 on the laptop for the last 4 years. Well I've fallen at the first hurdle. I've downloaded a bunch of tuition videos, but the sound cuts off when I open the DAW. This happens both if the speakers are connected through the headphone out, or through the USB into my Line 6 GX. Any help appeciated.
  6. i ordered mine the day after you, so maybe tomorrow for me 🀞
  7. hasn't arrived yet...
  8. If the set list is on the floor and I don't wear my glasses, I cannot read it. πŸ€“
  9. this is why i had my custom Shuker's built
  10. At Friday's gig, my band played 'Sex on Fire' and 'Wonderwall' among others. It seemed the entire pub was dancing and singing along.
  11. Because probably more so than any other, Malmsteen is very much the guitarists guitarist. I would guess the majority of his audience are guitarists. So who is the market for this? How many bassists are going to buy a bass, because it's the sig model of a guitarist? Kind of in the same way as how many guitarists would buy a Jaco Pastorius signature model guitar? Bono and The Edge, are on the Fender board, so it must make sense somewhere

  13. Not sure if this is a wind up, but it's on his official Facebook page. Jazz bass with Seymour Duncan pups.
  14. I'm not a collector, so for me it's a case of if I get new gear I want to use it.
  15. The Cult, at the Hammersmith Odeon last Sunday. They were better than when I last saw them 5-6 years ago, but they were missing a second guitarist which came through on a number of songs, despite the keyboard player trying to cover.
  16. Halloween gig last night. Epic. At times it seemed the entire pub was dancing or singing along. I was f/x free for a change. No-one noticed πŸ˜’ We don't have any monitors, so it was the typical case of the sound on stage being different to FOH. I thought I sounded a bit trebly, but apparently out front it sat really well in the mix.
  17. I came to bass from classical guitar, pretty much transferring the technique wholesale as it were, so not lazy and not poor. For me, I don't have any problems digging in - although my preference is not to - and I don't think when playing the Foo Fighters, or AC/DC, or Thin Lizzy, my sound is too polite. You are of course welcome to judge for yourselves, and I would be delighted to see you tonight 😎
  18. i would not disagree!
  19. One of my ramps, or Thumb-chum, as it got named as it is also a thumb rest and pick-up cover.
  20. Back in the day, at a talk given by a chap who had at one point been in Van Morrison's band, a story was told regarding the last day of the tour, when before the gig each member of the band took one of Van's harmonicas, and wiped it up the crack of their derriere, then replaced it back on the rack. Such was the regard in which he was held. A challenging man to work for/with.
  21. I've only gone and done it😱 Ordered it earlier πŸ™ƒ
  22. which was the one in a cage, so you could see the valves lit up? It looked amazing.😎
  23. My custom Shuker's are built to my design/spec, as signature models they would have limited appeal.
