depends what you mean by 'metal'. Back in the day metal was spray on trousers and long hair, then it became baggy shorts and no hair. Now I'm not sure what it is 🤔

Tribute bands - where the name is better than the band

Fair enough, they played in Mo's Bar in Springfield. -
that's fine for vocalists, but with a bass or guitar it means having to lean in a bit.

Now with Pics! Shuker 3. Extended db type fret board 😱
MacDaddy replied to MacDaddy's topic in Build Diaries
time for an update? The latest from John: its been through several versions, I wanted to design something that kept the lower side of the neck free from any obstacles for fretting, looking at the double bass version the tuners would be somewhat in the way but i think i’ve one up with something that works, but still a similar design… If you can imagine the pick marker pen is the fretboard, similar to number two with a fallaway just after the nut on A, D and G, but the strings disappear through an elongated hole to the actual heastock below, normal mini bass tuners mounted in a double bass style on the ‘bass’ side of the board are about 15mm below the board. Not easy to describe… the extended board has the ebony clamps mounted on the upper side of the board and can be turned away. The E tuner is mounted again below the board level but on the treble side, it will clear the other tuners. It is quite complicated but will work and give you a near normal feeling neck up that end. Let me know what you reckon and if you can visualise the design of it ok, it will probably be the case that the design changes a bit as its made, I’m thinking i may have to move the tuners a bit further out from the neck so that the G tuner doesnt obstruct the hand… Its certainly different! -
doh! I did the searches before posting and didn't get anything.

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/steel-panthers-satchel-and-tc-electronic-face-backlash-over-offensive-and-sexist-guitar-pedal-effect/ On the one hand it's Steel Panther, so what do you expect? On the other hand, just because it's Steel Panther, should they be able to get away with it? Satchel's reply to the complaining tweet did make me laugh though

From recent gigging over the past couple of weeks: Shuker no 1 with D'Addario 30's - intonation fine, tuning stable. Shuker no 2 with Elite 45's - intonation fine, tuning needs an occasional tweak.

Are there adapters, so they can be used on 'normal' microphone stands?

Bluejay, that is exactly the first thing that came to my mind! Reyalpssabginkcufecin! (one for the Anthrax fans there)

Tribute bands - where the name is better than the band

Tiny: Wayne. How you doin'? Wayne: Hey, Tiny, who's playing today? Tiny: Jolly Green Giants and the Shitty Beatles. Wayne: Shitty Beatles? Are they any good? Tiny: They suck. Wayne: Then it's not just a clever name. -
Tribute bands - where the name is better than the band

I stand corrected. The band I've seen are The Iron Ladies, not as previously alluded to The Iron Maidens. For avoidance of doubt this is who I mean: https://www.facebook.com/bandaIronladies/ -
awesome. Many thanks!

is it possible to download without having to be a member/sign up for the Sound Cloud?

So has anyone else's vocalist had an email from 'The Voice' asking if they would like to attend the auditions? It was a generic email sent to his personal address, which is linked to the band Facebook page, so I'm assuming there's been a job lot sent out? Since when did these telly talent shows have to ask people to audition? Are they not getting the numbers anymore, or is this the way 'The Voice' has always worked?

don't like him. Too talented. Not jealous. At all.

The Bass Gallery Presents: A Masterclass With John Patitucci

you'll always have bills to pay. You won't always get to see John Patitucci -
I'm loving my Puma 500. It just sounds great. Small and light, but not light enough it drifts off the cab while playing... I originally wanted the 900 as I was playing in a mightily loud metal band, but the 500 came in a good price so I went with it, and it has always been plenty loud enough with room to spare. When gigging the EQ is usually set flat, as it seems to suit my bass and sounds great. Question - is the 'flat' setting voiced?

That is awesome! 😎

I love me some Dio, but Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell, just don't do it for me. Whereas stick some Holy Diver on, and 30 odd years just fade away... \m/ -
Tribute bands - where the name is better than the band

there's a Brazilian all female Iron Maiden tribute band, called Iron Maidens. Musically they are absolutely spot on. \m/ -
