  1. I do like white block inlays on a maple fretboard 😎
  2. I once saw a Coldplay tribute band (not my choice) do I Believe in a Thing Called Love, by The Darkness, as an encore.
  3. Pint held purely for scale 😁
  4. and this.
  5. I used to have the PJB Dalek. Or M500 head and 8T & 16B cabs. It sounded great but wasn't loud enough, due to the speakers running at 16ohms IIRC.
  6. My first bass - sort of. It was the college bass I learned to play on. Sounded good, but as others have said, they're heavy buggers 😋
  7. That was my first thought when I saw the thread title!
  8. Got a folding bass at work, and rehearse there too as all but one of the band work at the same place.
  9. Trying to reply but I'm unable to paste text or links 😤 Take a look at the Wikipedia page for legato then look at the guitar section ☺ Or go to the YouTube and search for 'legato guitar' 🎸
  10. If speed = shredding then there's no difference if you use a technique based on legarto. Funnily enough if I shred on guitar, I have to pick each note. But on bass I'm a fingers player and can use legarto.
  11. Nikki Sixx. No song in particular, just him running about the stage throwing shapes and posing. I thought 'i'll have some of that'.
  12. i wonder if my bass style will ever be in vouge.😃
  13. er, yeah. Or at least that is the intention to buy one that's better.
  14. If you need a pre-amp, does that mean your amp isn't much cop? 😛
  15. saw them at The Horn in St Albans, getting on for 20 years ago. Great gig. Probably a completely different line-up Pauline excepted.
  16. Swift by name...
  17. confused what 'can't' we do?
  18. do you play a Shuker Simon Rix sig P bass?
  19. more praise for Wunjo Bass, going above and beyond the call of duty, and all I was buying was a single string!
  20. RMS Studios are just by Putney Bridge. Easy enough to get to from Clapham, and not too bad for the rest of you - depending on what time you rehearse.
  21. where's the empathy button when you need one
  22. what is a mistake though? If I play a wrong note but it fits and sounds ok is it a mistake? If I go in to the chorus too early on Jene Genie is that a mistake? If I'm doing a bass solo (yup, I've done 'em!) that doesn't quite work, is it a mistake even though I fully intended to play the notes I played?
  23. so in terms of playing live and gigging with it, no latency or noticeable glitches?
