1. So at last night's gig (6 bands just a line check between bands) the normal set up for bass is to go through the supplied back line, a Fender Rumble, which is DI'ed. Having played there before, I just wanted to DI straight from my Behringer BDI121 (there are monitors on stage) but the soundguy said he would prefer me to go through the amp as it 'would put less strain on the PA'. Is this true?
 2. We're on about 8. 6 bands from 5pm, doors open at 4pm. https://m.facebook.com/Metal-2-The-Masses-London-2017-m2tmlondon-1224132694305851/
 3.
so bearing this in mind would you buy this unit again or something else
If i just had basses, or didn't have guitars with humbuckers, definitely buy it again. But as i don't, and do, nope
 4. So at Saturdays gig, i tried all 4 channels, with the same result. The sound just breaks up.
 5.
I love the Vampyres, never had one but always wanted one.....wheres the pics?
This!
 6.
Just come across the Xvive wireless system. Anyone like to comment on how they hold up after a few months' use? Are people even still using them?
yup, still using mine, I've been using it with my basses, and a Telecaster guitar. All good. but... I brought my Epiphone TS Les Paul and Gibson MM Flying V out of retirement, and it doesn't like them. At home and rehearsals it's fine, but at gig levels the sound breaks up. Not sure why this is, as it's only the amp that gets louder. Xvive said to try the different channels. I will but I can't do it a home because I need to be playing at gig levels.
 7.
but do be careful not to stray into any of that awful "slapping" nonsense that the young people of today seem to be obsessed with. It's not big, and it's not clever.
Especially those young whipper snappers Larry Graham and Bootsy Collins!
 8.
Twice the price - twice the quality? Stay tuned...
Half the weight?
 9.
Yes we are.. i can see them fine on my phone..
Are you on an iPhone? I'm on Android and I'm just getting the blank spaces too
 10.
Somebody create a list??
Have we got a location yet?
 11. Aaah! Damn antocorrect. Meant Pino, not Pink. Imagine Pink in The Who?
 12.
Oooo imagine that? As long as he kept it focused and didn't shred, Billy Sheehan in The Who would be amazing. The only problem I could see is that he maybe brings too much of an identity in his playing to fit in, but I reckon it could be worked out. Billy Sheehan is not my lover.
He's always made a point of saying 90% of what he does, is just playing bass in the band. Pink didn't have problems fitting in and his playing definitely has its own identity.
 13.
Me, playing Megadeth with my fingers http://youtu.be/dCne6Ivo7V4 Excuse my children
I'm on a fone - android- so can't see what you posted, there is just a big space.
 14. Rob in Metallica. Fingers all the way. I'm not in a thrash band, but we have elements/influences from thrash.
 15. Ta. Will have to pop in some time.
 16.
I found the Hartke pedal BTW.
Awesome, can you bring it Saturday? Ta.
 17.
Well where's the fun in that?
Not in having to replace ones underpants.
 18.
I need to get something that approximates the bass synth sound from "Material Girl" by madonna from my Future Impact pedal. Does anyone have any settings suggestions? I'm really new to synth sounds and it's blowing my mind with all the different possibilities but I'm yet to get close to what I want. Something like this: https://soundcloud.com/tom-caswell-3/material-synth Any help massively appreciated.
It's the same kind of sound I'm after too. Synth bass but no fart or squelch.
 19. Where is the Yamaha store, in London?
 20. Yep that's them Stonefield. Nice basses, surprisingly comfortable.
 21. There were basses at the LBGS which had a tuner-less headstock, tuners without the ears, and fine tuners at the bridge. Can't remember the company though
 22. Just heard. RIP Chuck
