1.
Ah! So user error?
possibly. But if not, they are cool people to deal with.
2.
Hmm, so that's not a great start! Sometimes getting the transmitter and receiver too close is a bad thing - RF signal overload may be occurring and actually causing the problem!
the flickering blue light, means the transmitter and receiver are not connected on the same channel. The number of flashes incate which channel each is set to. Once they are linked the flashes stop. Mine only flicker when I switch on one of them, and it stops when I switch on the other. I use mine sat right next to my computer (plugged into my Toneport), and have no overload issues.
3.
I just sent mine back. Used at home when it arrived and I was too frequently getting the blueLED flickering which indicates dropping of the link between Tx and Rx Not prepared to even try it out live. As they were less than 30cm apart I was not pleased !
Were they both set to the same channel?
4. Bass. Its where it all begins, and as my bass is so personal to me (made to measure) using others is not the same. I have a host of alternatives for what happens from the bass output, but for me its gotta start with bass.
5. Bu99er.
6. So, I've rehearsed with them using guitar and bass, and gigged using guitar. I use them in the house for practice, both in to the amp, and in to the laptop - via a Line 6 GX. The only issue, as stated earlier, is that due to the position of the transmitter on my guitars and bass, I can't see the power light to know when they are getting low. But I just make sure they are charged before a gig, so no problem. They charge quite quick too, around 2 hours or so. I'm loving them
7.
It's Fender, it happens
But for nearly a grand it shouldn't.
8. i bought my Epiphone TS Les Paul from Macari's. Managed to get quite a bit knocked off, plus a more substantial gig bag thrown in too.
9. No just a holiday, we'll be taking a few days in Sao Paulo on the way to visit relatives.

Sean's Feedback

Sean bought my Charvel. Might even get to see him gig with it on the 29th! More than happy to deal with him again, maybe next time he'll have time for a cuppa.
11. And now sold. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/292754-charvel-2b/#entry3144754
12. Sold, not 10 minutes ago.
13. Great review but:
14.
No pics yet?
Here you go! So, great condition for a guitar that's over 20 years old. There are a few minor dings, but nothing that I can photo. I've added the black scratch plate (original white plate included in sale). Also I had the neck slimmed, its still a Tele neck, but less of a club. There is a bit of wear on the bottom edge - shown in photo - but this makes it more comfortable as the edge is rounded and doesn't stick in your arm.
15. Pointy headstock that is still pointy. Upgraded with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder and comes with a hard case. A tad of mojo on the bottom - I've tried to show in the pic. An amazingly well preserved over 20 years old, made in Japan Charvel.
16. Isn't Oxford known for its well regarded university? Oxford Brookes.
17.
I`m similar Dave, have an MiM and two US Standards and the US are noticeably better, in as you say, sound, feel and general quality. I`ve added the same pickup to my MiM and a hi-mass bridge to get it as near to the US as I can, and these have pushed it nearer, but the US still feels more substantial underhand.
maybe some kind of blind test is in order for the next Bass bash?
18. Ola! MacWifey and I are gonna be in Sao Paulo next year. Post a link to your bands website and we might get to a gig
19. check out the back of the store by the bins. Bet you'll find something.
20.
They are headlining at WGW this year.
who, Sisters of Mercy? Eldritch was always particularly scathing about WGW when they have been previously asked to do it.
21. nobody needs a P bass, but they are a sort of right-of-passage. With a P, you are not buying a bass, you are buying the rock n roll dream, and Fender's history and heritage. Regardless of what is played now, most people seem to have had one. Probably just due to the ubiquity of the instrument though.
22.
You could try putting it on the back of the headstock - you can still read it, but the punters can't see it.
I've started to do that since the last gig.
