1. How are you getting on with the neck?
2. At the SE Bass Bash they had the 'new' shape Wal's. Surprisingly non-fugly.
3.
Me too, I hope it's quite furious!
if it's just 'mildly miffed' I'm gonna be well disappointed!
4. Dare I suggest the Future Impact? Pricey, but apparently worth it. There's a thread somewhere with the demo sounds etc.
5. yup eagerly waiting for the 'anger' review.
6.
Specifically listening to band homework...
same here, but all originals.
7. Update from Jon: The body is all sorted now, i’ve just started get the shielding sorted, so electrics over the next few days. I’ve got a bit more to do on the neck which i’ll be doing this coming week too. I’ve had a bit of a restricted 2 weeks or so with ‘students’ in, a course the week before last, returning students for three days last week and 3 days again this week, but i shall crack on!
8. If a band are playing in a pub, for me, that's a reason to go in. If the band are crap, that's a reason for me to leave.
9.
No worries ... just waiting for a decent one to appear.
10. Too many strings, but I like it. but not at £750.
11.
As long as I can copy the best ideas from better musicians than me, I'm happy.
you can copy my ideas then
12. You don't miss what you don't have. But if I didn't have it, I would miss it.
13. Re. the power light, according to the instructions, it flashes when there is a low charge.
14.
Just checking...how much of the gear for sale actually sold??
I sold my wireless, and gave my case of leads to the raffle.
15. so I've had them since last week, and have mainly used them around the house. Being wireless without having to plug in the receiver is so convenient. I play through a digital modelling amp (Peavey Vypyr VIP 3) and created some mightily f/x heavy sounds, and there is no noticeable latency. I've A/B'd them with a lead (OBBM) and there is no noticeable loss of signal or volume. I just used them straight away with the charge they had from the factory, and they finally died at band practice last night. Nothing slow or intermittent about it, one second was fine, the next they were off. Well the transmitter anyway. Because of it's position under the guitar I could not see what if anything, happened to the power light. I'm gonna charge them tonight for the first time, and take them to an audition I have tomorrow. Initial verdict is I'm loving them, but I need to see what they are like at gig volume, and also I want to find out if the power light gives some kind of low power warning.
16. I wonder if the band Blur, have a song called Tremble? Liked the bass tone/playing.
17. I had one of these. Marshall lead and bass head. I'm not sure in which world it actually has 100w rating. Nasty transistor fuzz for guitars, and entirely lacking in bottom end for bass. Heavy too.
18.
just listened through headphones, the mono versions sound better to me, more heft ,
yup, i thought that too.
19. OK, when I get a minute I'll give it a go.
20.
I keep on coming back to these. They're not that bad you know - I'd have one.
I don't think they look too bad either, although they don't immediately scream Gibson. I like the 2 octave neck, but would have to play one first.
21. As you can see from the pick, the bridge tuner for my D string has a screw sticking out. It was not like this when I restrung a couple of weeks ago, but now the D string tuner is almost impossible to turn. Is sorting this as simple as detuning, screwing the screw back in, then retuning? Undoing the strings at the headstock is not possible as they are clamped and cut.
22.
I'm not clicking on a Daily Fail link.
Er, it's not.
23. Will post within the UK for an extra tenner. Case included, halfway between a soft and hard case. Pics and further details to follow.
24. Will post within the UK for an extra tenner. Upgraded SD pup and with hard case. Pics and further info to come.
25. Quite interesting that there is still 'Fender magic' when Fender is just a brand. All they have are Leo's original blueprints and the trademark. Still I suppose it's a pretty big 'all'
