2.
its what you don't play
I'm doing that right now without my bass
  3.
If it is only the left hand that you have problems with, and you can still use your plucking fingers, have you tried a left handed bass. I had to do it as I have no movement in my little finger. It was difficult at first, but the best thing I did in terms of bass playing
This was my first thought. And maybe use a pick too?
  4. Pics or it never happened ;-)
  5.
I like my gear.
This, or 'it's mine and I want it'.
  6. A Mexican bass made with USA parts by a Mexican in Mexico, or a USA bass made with USA parts by a Mexican in the USA?
  7. "I think Lemmy was an angel!" And I said, "What?" She said, "Well, there are angels sent to earth to help us on our journeys. They walk amongst us, and their purpose is to help us find our way." I said, "Really? They're going to send down a whiskey-drinking, cigarette-smoking, speed-snorting pirate as an angel?" And she said to me, "Who else would you guys listen to? Some guy in a flowing robe with wings? Lemmy Kilmister — that's the angel you guys are gonna listen to!"

Dave repaired my favourite fx pedal. Awesome job, awesome bloke!
  10.
Like new, unfortunately it doesn't clip on to the headstock of my Roscoe 6 because of the shape of it. £15 posted.
Well I pm'd at 3:38pm on 14 Jan. I have had no reply to that or the pm I sent on 22 Jan, and there has been no further post here despite your being active on Basschat, so I have bought something else instead.
  11. If you need more than Dan has, I've one you can have for the postage.
  12.
Not this century. Had a nice chat with Jet Harris once.
I've seen the Shads' a couple of times, albeit without Jet. They happily posed for pics and signed things, and Hank actually asked if everyone was happy and had got what they wanted, before the band left. Legend.
  13.
BB King was a legend. Young and starry eye'd we waited outside the stage door after a gig he did in Bristol. When he came out with his 9 piece band + wives and girlfriends he stopped and asked what we were doing. When we said we were waiting to meet him he got us onto his tour bus with coffees and teas, sat us down, introduced us to the band and entourage, signed loads of photos, gave us other stuff. We had to make our excuses and leave in the end. He was in no hurry.
Wow! Just wow!
  14. There are few bands that you can genuinely say you have no idea what to expect. Off the top of my head, the only one I can think of is The Cardiacs.
  15.
Shouldn't matter. Unless the desired effect is to change volume temporarily (for solo etc.) all effects (both as part of a multieffect and single pedals) should really be set to unity gain (you can enable/bypass the effect and it should sound the same volume). Not keeping an eye on your gain structure like this can cause problems later on.
But with multi fx you usually have 2 volumes, a channel \patch volume and a master volume.
  16. In my day metal was long hair and tight trousers. Then it became short hair and baggy trousers. These days I'm not sure what it is
  17. If you turn in on in the UK make sure you have the voltage selector at 230 Otherwise no problems with mine
  18.
I have the luxury of Wunjo Bass being about five minutes walk from my office in London. Lawrence and the Toms are a delight to deal with and they're usually competitive with any deals I can find on line.
This. I've bought from them before and am happy to go back. Was in there yesterday. Made it clear I was just browsing, but was still invited to try anything that took my fancy. Also had a bit of a natter about custom basses.
  19.
I always try to set the volume on my effects so that they match the volume without them, unless for some reason those effects need to be louder (e.g. boosters for soloing). Makes it much easier live.
Are they single fx's?
  20.
No such thing as an illegitimate technique. It's all about the music. If you can make a musical noise using any part of the body (easy, tiger), it's legitimate. You can argue whether there is a more efficient means etc but legitimacy is always a moot point. Anything else is missing the point.
So how would you argue regarding efficiency?
  21.
Not completely sure what you mean by channel volume, unless it's pre amp gain, but does this help? http://line6.com/sup...channel-volume/
Channel\patch\editable pre-set, or however they are named, on my pedal the amp level controls the volume for this, then there is the master volume which is everything. Thanks for the attached will have a read.
  22. 3kg? If you wear a decent strap you might forget its there
  23. As I said above, like double thumbing but with fingers. So doing an up and down stroke with the same finger.
  24. How do you set your channel and master volume levels with your multi fx pedals? I know some people have the master to full, but others set it to the same volume of the amp with the fx switched off. But if you do this how do you set your patch levels?
