Does 'medium' scale count as short scale
My Shuker is 30" but it has an extra 2 frets Kubicki style. Being a short are it suits me perfectly.
It's actually 32" (I measured it) doh!

Nah, deserves his own thread, and now he has 2!
MacDaddy plays bass!
Yup, first gig on bass where I belong, in about 6 years. First gig for the band too.
It's actually Metal to the Masses round 10, so no pressure eh

My custom Shuker was made to measure (to my body size and arm length and even finger length for the thumb rest \ramp) , so it is physically pleasurable to play.

Make your mind up - is it a carefully crafted object or is it a Precision?

someone put this in the quotes thread !
If your drummer has no respect for the way he treats your equipment he has no respect for you.
Sure accidents happen, but as Lozz said it's the drummers attitude.
I would be considering my position in the band.

The original version of this thread was loads better.

Nah, the posts were older and not up to their original standard, seemed to be just going through the motions. At least this thread is younger and the posts seem to mean it more.
I'm back in a band playing bass again (metal \m/ ) and our first gig is on the 31st January.
I haven't settled on a bass string brand yet, I've been using the ones I tend to win in raffles at Bassbashes.
I've been a bassist for many years and would be delighted to provide feedback on your strings.
BTW I'm old school and play 4 string basses.
Bought an amp from Will. Excellent price, he got it to me quick and securely. Great comms, more than happy to to business with him again, can heartily recommend :-)

In my main covers band we play half a dozen songs in B.
I don't HAVE to play a low B in any of them.
But it's nice when I do.
Its when you have to play B but don't, what causes the problems ;-)

If you happen to have an iPad or iPhone, you can get great apps and interfaces for those too that can totally replace a multi fx and always be upgradable!

Or this for the iPad

You could easily practice/rehearse with this bass unplugged while a child slept in the next bedroom.
Is this compulsory? I like the bass but having to borrow a child just so I could practice unplugged seems to be a bit of a pain.
