1. Hi does anyone know what the 50% off D'Addario is, and whether it is still valid? ta McD
2.
So far only one person has admitted to being an out and out poser.
The LEDs on my bass are forward facing and have different settings for flashing and pulsing. Poseur? Hell yeah
3. Mine is for sale here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/249351-will-now-post-iceni-zoot-active-and-with-hipshot-detuner/page__gopid__2859361#entry2859361
4. Gotta be the Behringer BDI
5.
Beleza e você? Bom saber que alguém fala português por aqui
Temos membros portugueses.
6. ‎Oi como vai você? Btw :-)
7.
Welcome A colleague tells me that instruments are hard to get/expensive in Brazil (his wife is Brazilian). Would it be cost-effective (and legal!) to buy something here, take it home and sell it?
Yes, because he can get the VAT back at the airport.
8. Use it or lose it. I found that once muscle memory goes then it really is like starting from scratch.
9. When I did it to my old 4 string MM Sub, it felt like a 4 string Sub with thicker strings. The neck width and bridge spacing of a 4 string is never gonna feel like a 5 string.
10. What about a GK drive pedal for that GK growl? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/gallien-krueger-diesel-dawg-bass-overdrive-pedal
11.
Hate to be that guy... I thought it was as bad as their Glastonbury set last year. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with being there - which excuses the sound being muddled or not great. The bass solo was a bit of a nothingness really - we all know RT is a monstrous player, so why the dithery mess? And Kirk Hammett's guitar tuning was off throughout, he was scrappy (for him - he was Mr clean when I used to watch them) - fluffed notes and even cocked up a pickscrape in his first 'solo' bit. At points he looked lost, sounded even more lost and then raised his hands up and gave the cocky nod like he'd rewritten the rule book. The first half sounded rushed, sloppy, and then the biggest cheer came for their cover of Whiskey in the Jar... I don't know, Twitter was full of 'Metallica are gods' 'Kirk Hammett is a guitar hero' - I thought they had a shocker. But, whatever, I'm not rich, I'm not them and I'm not headliner of any festival anywhere... Just a disgruntled fan of their older stuff (and Newsted)...
Glad you said it, so I didn't have to say it first ;-)
12. If Tetley put the T in Tea, who put the c##t in Scunthorpe?
13.
I suspect it's a measure to keep the strings from oxidising so they keep longer on the shelf than purely environmental reasons. Plus cheaper than bagging individual strings.
Yup. They had issues with 'tarnishing'. The new packaging is supposed to stop this.
14. 'These days' it's not necessary, as you can just search for a how to video on YouTube. Not saying this is a good thing btw.
15.
You were saying? (edit - looks like I was beaten to it!)
Nah gotta be all white. The black guard spoils it.
16. The Beatles were a second rate rip off of the genuine article. http://www.youtube....h?v=Fu3T_2GzXSo
17. You could always upgrade the pups on the 424. Btw I think the vintage white 424 looks awesome.
18.
He'd have done better if he'd started at 99p. That way it grabs folks attention. I'd guess it would probably sell for about £200
Close!
19.
Status Streamline. I have no idea why. Perhaps its because they're unlike anything else out there. I quite fancy rocking one of those in my sh*te pub band, just to be a little perverse...
Happy Jack occasionally cracks his Streamline out in his pub rock band.
20. Any manufacturer can make a great bass, and price is rarely an indicator of quality. The only advice I would give is play as many bass guitars as possible then choose the one that feels and sounds right in your budget. Then have gas for all the other basses you haven't played
21.
I quite like that - like a restrained Ritter. Jon.
That was my thought too.
22. For my band it has more than paid for itself. We have had venues contact us through LEMONROCK and it has been good for finding new venues to approach. YMMV.
23. Wrong side of the pennines, but never mind I once went to a gig straight from work, via a Chinese takeaway. Much stuffing of mouthfulls between songs in the first set.
24.
Yes, I keep on buying and selling Fender Precisions in the hope of finding "the one". Fairly sure I`ve got it now though. Previously I`ve had ones which were great players, great sounding, ideal weight, but none of them had all three of those factors until now, which my 2015 US Standard has.
With maple necks?
25.
Love the double bass drum kit. It was a great time. I wish I'd spent more of it on becoming a better player, but there were a lot of parties to get to, places to go to, people to see. I was too easily distracted.
You mean having a good time - post penicillin pre aids - lucky b*st*rd
