1. A few years ago I got a call from a shop I had a Trace combo on sale with. It was priced for a quick sale at £250 but they had a guy in offering £200. So I told them "tell him he can have it now for £300. It's already a bargain at £250 so if he can take the p1ss so can I".
2.
I'm not sure the audience want to see me play for three minutes and then spend two hours editing it in Pro Tools...
I don't think anyone in a studio would want to see me jumping up and down, punching the air and shouting 'f#ck yeah!'
3. Price includes mainland UK p&p. If you are not near that London you are welcome to have another BC'er check it out for you with no obligation.
4. Active and passive at the flick of a switch. Try before you buy in that London SW15/SW18 no obligation if it's not for you. I've been taking it to rehearsals, and can assure you it is excellent for metal.
5.
Here's someone's photocopies of the relevant pages from The Essential Jaco Pastorius, this is the version originally from Invitation: http://www.youbioit....n/4045/imagen19 (click back a couple of pages for Soul Intro if you need that as well)
I play it starting at 5th position, so 2nd finger on the b flat. That way you keep the same pattern as you move around the neck. Live Jaco used to play harmonics in time with the brass stabs, but I haven't got the hang of that yet.
6.
Yeah i guess I should just go with loops.. trouble is I'm not really up to speed with drums and my attempts are ruining otherwise reasonable sounding tracks.
We got drummers on here who I'm sure could advise on patterns. I would suggest you do what you can, post to Soundcloud (or whatever) then see what the drummers reckon.
7. What combination of effects do I need to use, to create a clean keyboard type bass sound. Most bass synth sounds seem to be Moogy (& boingy) or Mutrony (& squelchy)
8. My serious suggestion would be a lightweight cab that can be used for bass and guitar. So a Barefaced version of the cab part of my Peavey Vypyr VIP 3. My suggestion that I would seriously like to see (and hear) would be a Barefaced version of the Bad Cab. Make that lightweight Alex! http://www.tech-soundsystems.de/TecAmp/index.php?id=111
9.
Just for the record: Using a plectrum isn't "cheating"...

10. Can I come? Loved It Bites, and Frank's solo stuff, he is offensively talented.
11.
Basses without a rounded forearm cut. I tried with my Ric, but it wasn't happening. It was a real shame because the neck was perfect.
Agree with this. Gigs soon become mighty uncomfortable with the bass body digging into your forearm. It's why I had to get rid of my MM Sub, which was otherwise a great bass.
12.
Seen a few bands do AC/DC stuff over the years and funnily enough it's the rhythm section that often comes up short, esp. Malcolm Young's rhythm parts/feel. Bit like seeing bands doing Stones covers - few tend to nail Keef's parts/feel.
Because people think AC/DC music is easy to play, they tend to play the easy or obvious option. Whereas Malcolm often uses different chord voicings and inversions.
13. Is it weird that although I don't have a clue what Bill and Alex are on about, I still enjoy reading it?
14. Yes I bought my Gibson melody maker flying V from them for an insanely low price. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. I would have no problem buying from them again. But do try the price match thing
15. bootsy666 can you post a pic with your bass against the cab, to provide some perspective? Ta.
16.
Could we get back "on-topic" please?
Probably not.
17. http://www.snap-dragon-guitars.co.uk/e--guitars-and-basses-19-w.asp Not acoustic but ticks all the other boxes.
18.
"Dixie" Dave Collins from Weedeater is known for puking during gigs without missing a note. https://www.youtube....h?v=lYPyVDb75xc
Wasn't that Johnny Rotten's trick?
19.
weight = 33lbs bump
And don't forget that's for a 2 x 12. Bump
20. seriously considering cheating and using a pic. here's Dave Jr showing how it's done nothing too technically challenging it's just relentless! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oah2HSQlps
21. i cannot believe that happened, seroius shock here. so serious, i have to edit my inability to spell serious!
22.
That's brilliant - could make some money on the replica shirt sales!
Didn't Wet Wet Wet once sponsor a local team? I know whose name I'd rather have on my footy top :-)
