1. Attitude limited 3. Just shy of £2,500.00 at GAK. http://www.gak.co.uk...CFQgOwwodx00A2Q
2.
The E-MU Shortboard only has a 12dB/octave lowpass filter. Wouldn't this miss out some of the 24dB/octave filter bass sounds. The Mini-Brute and Mini-Nova have far more flexible filtering than the shortboard, I think.
But again it's adding gear to what needs to be taken to a gig. Plus the extra sound checking issues.
3. I've never been able to 'tame' a Mutron. I'm getting close with a flanger but can't stop the wah type decay.
4. "Brand name: Bass"
5. Mastering can be the difference between your album sound like a demo or a release quality product.
6. I've got a Dementor VTBP -201S. Well, a modelled one on my Digitech BP 355
7. Musicians union members have ooodles of free PLI.
8. I would like to think a bass guitar is just a tool to do a job. They are made to be be played so I play them. However my custom Shuker is the best bass in the world and my Hamer Blitz is a keeper
9. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MA2awavT6VM If it ain't stopping this guy you've got no excuse. And I'll post it first so no-one else is tempted 'I'd give my right arm to be able to play like that'.
10. I ha IMO
I'd be programming music on a computer
I've got a Yamaha QY 70. Awesome bit of kit, and perfect for when you can not play.
11.
Ed Friedland (aka The Bass Whisperer) just reviewed the new DR Pure Blues and he talked about "The Fried Chicken test" :-D
That was Jaco' s trick, chicken fat. Must have been a bit smelly on stage?
12.
Rust should not be a problem after six months, although it could be due to the acid in your sweat. Perhaps you should consider putting a sachet of silica gel in your guitar case. The only other thing you can do, besides wiping down the strings after each practice, is to wash your hands before playing.
Yep definitely this.
13. Post pics anyway. It'll be like Bullseye 'look at what you could have won'
14. Pics would help. Are they noticeable or in a place a regularly gigged bass would have them? Autocorrect changed gigged to hugged lol.
15. Some useful advice, thanks!
16. A few years ago I got a call from a shop I had a Trace combo on sale with. It was priced for a quick sale at £250 but they had a guy in offering £200. So I told them "tell him he can have it now for £300. It's already a bargain at £250 so if he can take the p1ss so can I".
17.
I'm not sure the audience want to see me play for three minutes and then spend two hours editing it in Pro Tools...
I don't think anyone in a studio would want to see me jumping up and down, punching the air and shouting 'f#ck yeah!'
18. Price includes mainland UK p&p. If you are not near that London you are welcome to have another BC'er check it out for you with no obligation.
19. Active and passive at the flick of a switch. Try before you buy in that London SW15/SW18 no obligation if it's not for you. I've been taking it to rehearsals, and can assure you it is excellent for metal.
20.
Here's someone's photocopies of the relevant pages from The Essential Jaco Pastorius, this is the version originally from Invitation: http://www.youbioit....n/4045/imagen19 (click back a couple of pages for Soul Intro if you need that as well)
I play it starting at 5th position, so 2nd finger on the b flat. That way you keep the same pattern as you move around the neck. Live Jaco used to play harmonics in time with the brass stabs, but I haven't got the hang of that yet.
21.
Yeah i guess I should just go with loops.. trouble is I'm not really up to speed with drums and my attempts are ruining otherwise reasonable sounding tracks.
We got drummers on here who I'm sure could advise on patterns. I would suggest you do what you can, post to Soundcloud (or whatever) then see what the drummers reckon.
22. What combination of effects do I need to use, to create a clean keyboard type bass sound. Most bass synth sounds seem to be Moogy (& boingy) or Mutrony (& squelchy)
23. My serious suggestion would be a lightweight cab that can be used for bass and guitar. So a Barefaced version of the cab part of my Peavey Vypyr VIP 3. My suggestion that I would seriously like to see (and hear) would be a Barefaced version of the Bad Cab. Make that lightweight Alex! http://www.tech-soundsystems.de/TecAmp/index.php?id=111
24.
Just for the record: Using a plectrum isn't "cheating"...

25. Can I come? Loved It Bites, and Frank's solo stuff, he is offensively talented.
