edited to add pics: The history is, this was an original custom Iceni but the bloke who ordered it wanted everything to be as heavy as possible. Go figure. I got Jon Shuker to make a body for it, but later took it back to Mike at Iceni to make another Iceni body for it, to keep it all Iceni and a shot of it in action: now then, the issue. The neck is as solid as rock, but if you look at the folowing pics you may notice the little spots which are apparently where neck bolts were put in too deeply or something. This was done when John made the Shuker body, but was sorted out at the time. And it has been back to Mike who wouldn't let a dodgy bass escape with the Iceni name. So all's pukka but I mention to be totally open.
Let us examine the bare bones of Mr Daltrey's contention: * That the world is in a sh*t state * That mainstream popular music at one time raged against global sh*ttiness * That mainstream popular music no longer rages against global sh*ttiness * An example of a 'popular, not raging against global sh*ttiness' musical ensemble is One Direction All pretty much true facts, them. By contrast the author of the opinion piece re-writes Mr Daltrey's contention, tangentially addressing the entirely unvoiced issue of whether there has been any 'good' music since 1974, instancing as a rebuttal: New Wave, Grunge, Michael Jackson’s entire solo career, Radiohead, Pulp, Bjork, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, St Vincent, Prince I imagine that - in seeking inspiration - the op-ed author Ms Lindy West merely turned her head to scan the rows of compilation CD's stacked on her living room shelf before enumerating the quintessential list of 'music for girls of a homely appearance who don't really like music and who frequently spend their evenings sobbing into a Paddington Bear pillowcase'. The acid test is very simple: with whom would one prefer to spend an evening sinking a few beers and talking about music: i) Roger Daltrey - or (ii) Lindy West, op-ed writer for the Guardian? I think the answer is pretty clear.
Nope, answer iii) Skankdelvar.
Is BassChat's Server in the USA? I only ask because due to an incredible amount of SPAM from North America I put a block on anything being sent from any USA-based domain in order to deal with it. However... now I'm not getting BassChat email notifications, hence my question. I thank you!
Ah... I remember when basschat (or Bassworld as it was then) was closed down by the FBI. True story. Lol. The servers were in the States, and naughty people had been using them, so the Feds shut them down.

Although less busy than last year's the day flew by, and I enjoyed it for different reasons. Now I have to try shrink the XL Basschat tee shirt I won in the raffle, to a SO size (short arse). -
How come? My Chinese built Coronado is faultless. I think if you understand the location of build and the pricing structure you can find a bass that is a good fit. The beauty with the proliferation of the brand is if you can end up with a good far East bass at a very reasonable price. My Coronado purchase added value to my perception of the brand. I think poor USA builds are far more damaging to the brand.
A guy with a CNC machine in the States, a guy with a CNC machine in China. If it's the same quality wood, what's the difference?

Ooh eee ooh I look just like Buddy Holly...!

Didn't get on with regular ER20's so I use the ER 20 frosted greys (used to be Baby Blues). They have smaller flanges and fit and feel better.

Do the big name acts make cock-ups like us mortals?

as this is a bass forum, i'm suprised no-one has mentioned Trevor Boulder and the bass line to Jean Genie. -

due to illicit substances, at the MTV awards in 1990, Poison guitarist CC Deville starts to play the wrong song. -

Not a brand you ask for, but this ticks the 80's hair rock box. Good price too, and no it's not mine! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/242698-guild-pilot-sb-602/page__p__2559506__hl__guild__fromsearch__1#entry2559506

I've got custom made and custom shop made, but when I did a gig with a no-name oriental bass borrowed off a mate, nobody noticed I was using a different bass, let alone heard any difference in sound.

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible tour
MacDaddy replied to Cosmo Valdemar's topic in General Discussion
The Manics seem to have deliberately de-bigged their career. Their sales and popularity are such that they could have headlined some of the bigger festivals they have been down the bill on, and they've done support slots when they can headline their own tours. Maybe they are just taking the pressure off? -
