1. About bloody time! & love Coronado.
2. mine was £7 from Ikea. Tiny wheels and noisy when dragging it on a pavement or road, but has done the job for the past 2 years. Can handle up tp 30kg. Now £9 Kindle isn't letting me post the link, google 'Frakta Trolley Ikea'.
3. i remember the days of 'here's 3 chords, now form a band' so as others have said just do it
4. cant believe this hasn't sold yet. i love this bass and only lack of funds and space are stopping me buying!
5.
"It is a criminal offence to keep or pass on a note you know to be counterfeit. If you think a note looks dodgy you should hand it to the police." http://www.theguardi...t-fake-banknote
My understanding is that in legalise, a fake is something that is passed off as been a genuine article. As we will have a label saying 'fake' we are not claiming it to be a genuine note, therefore paradoxically it ceases to be a fake. Schrodinger' s £50? ;-)
6.
I'm not sure that I understand this sentence. Would you care to clarify, please..? Yes, put it down to old age on my part, no problem...
Some DAWs can only use vst effects, and not vst instruments. So despite saying they are vst compatible, they can only use vst compressors/distortions etc, and not vst drum machines/synths etc.
7. So some DAWs that say they can use VST plugins is a bit misleading, as they can only use vst effects but not vst instruments - like drum machines.
8.
ta! downloading it now.
Mdrummer isn't what I'm after so next I'm gonna try GTG DPC 3. DrumSampler.
9.
I can't guarantee it being the 'easiest to use' (although it's not hard; even I manage..!), but I would recommend 'MDrummer Small', which can be found here... MDrummer Small... BDF Eco is good, too, although limited only to sticks, for instance... BDF Eco... Have a look around in here, too... VST 4 Free, Drums... ... and try a few out. There's many different approaches to drum tracks, and the solutions vary. Do you want 'real' drum sounds (samples, WAVs...) or synthetic (nowt wrong with that; there are many excellent-sounding synths...). Do you want to program all the hits, or paste loops together, or generate whole drum tracks automatically..? Will you only want a basic 4/4, or are varying tempos required..? I can't answer all that for you, so have a scout around and plump for a couple to play with, and come back with more questions. Hope this helps...
ta! downloading it now.
10. Right, so which is the easiest to use free vst drums? Lol
11. I've had a look at a lot of them, and have downloaded Kristal Audio Engine. At the moment it looks like controls for the Enterprise, so I've a lot of reading to do before I actually try and use it!
12. I've got a guitar to usb lead, will this be adequate for recording guitar?
13.
Some reviews of free software here http://freemusicsoftware.org/category/free-windows-audio-software/audio-sequencer-windows
Awesome, even has a link to the free version of Reaper. Any idea which is easiest to use?
14. Ok, so I'm a complete numpty with all this computer recording malarkey, but I'm determined to take the first tentative steps. So advice needed. Ease of use is the priority, please do not underestimate my lack of ability with this kind of thing - I am yet to find an 'initiative interface' which I have found intuitive lol. I want to be able to record guitars and create my own drum patterns. If I get the hang of it I'll think about upgrading, but at the moment the plan is to start with the free stuff and see how it goes. Any recommendations? Cheers!
15. I use a Johnson J Station for guitar (and bass) and I'm trying to mimic the kind of natural compression you get from a valve amp - with distortion - so that I can use one sound without changing anything for lead and rhythm playing. Attached is a screen shot of my Johnson, showing the compressor. I know ultimately it's all about using my ears but I'd appreciate some help to get started
16. Skinny, from the Quireboys plays a Vintage (brand) LP. He really rates them and there are a lot of YouTube clips with him using it in place of his Gibson. Someone on here was recently selling one for a good price.

18. I use 11's on my guitars, I would use 12's but I haven't found any that come with an unwound G. My G has to be unwound as I bend it while soloing and that.
19. You can polish a turd - if you freeze it. Dunnery is a stunning guitarist, much underrated. If you go to the Globe theatre and the actors are not in costume does it matter? A stage is a stage, and a band is putting on a performance so dressing up matters.
20. Speakers are wrapped so not too much bigger than some 1x12's. Cab = CT 2X12 fitted with Neo B+C drivers to give 1000 watts RMS @ 4ohms. Total 1900 watts on speakers. Tweeters are disabled. here's a shot with my old Sub and old Tech combo on top to provide some perspective. I'll try to get more pics up during the week. ta.
