my Shuker is short scale, but as there are 2 extra frets (a-la Kubicki) at the top it's not noticeable.

being a beassist isn't what I do, it's what I am. i will probably spend the rest of my life always searching for that one bit of gear that's gonna make everything right - even though it may not be needed or even exist. For me it's the journey rather than the destination.

i remember one went on here a few years ago for about £900.00. Should've pulled the trigger on that. Not sure why the money thing is an issue for gigging, I know bassists who gig their vintage basses (worth £K's) and guitarists who gig their top end LP's (worth £K's). Jen's makes his basses to be played.

Yup. Attached you can see my all in one ramp/thumb rest/pup cover on my Shuker. for me makes all the difference. My playing style comes from classical guitar so I haven't had to adjust except for having shorter nails.

haven't read all the posts previously, but any song can be done at least adequately by a 3 piece if you consider arrangement and use of fx. edited due to spotting grammer and spelling mistakes the second after hitting 'post'.

the opposite. There have been several bands I auditioned for, who looked like they were gonna be successful (signed, name management, lotsa press etc) but after not getting the gig they all seemed to split up soon after.
