4. I use an amp modeller and could not give a rat's ass about convincing or accurate. All I care about is can I get something usuable that sounds good.

6. The History and Development of the American Guitar Includes basses too! http://www.amazon.co...d/dp/0933224184 According to the above Amazon link, used copies of this are $89.99 So as this one has a few creases on the cover and a bit of a peel at the top of the spine – but still perfectly readable - how about either a trade for a couple of packs of Power Slinky guitar (not bass) strings or the cost thereof £10.96 (posted)?
7. i checked out the GNX before getting my Johnson. I was under the impression it was just for guitarists? Obviously wrong - doh! I know Digitech own Johnson, there may be similarities between the J Station and the GNX?
8. a couple of months ago I bought my guitar from Macari's. Not the one on Denmark, but the one 5 mins away. I'd been to check it out and play it a couple of times, staff were helpful and happy for me to sit there and play. When I went back to buy it I managed to haggle a decent price out of them too.
9. Played one a few years ago and loved the ramp, which is why I had one as part of my Shuker.
10. i remember the Tokai's from back in the day. They had quite a good reputation - too good to be copies.
11. some of the Epi sig models are made in Japan, I don' think they have Gibson on them.
12.
There can't be that many ZZ Top tribute bands to sell this to. I don't see who else would pay that price
Calling Dr Dave!

14.
Do you mean Wolverton? If so, wonder which venue - one of my bands plays The Crauford Arms and we`ve always found it to be ok - suppose a lot can change in 10 years though.
That's the place, but really can't remember the pub ñame.
15. current debts of $246m. not the investment one would hope for?
16. Played a place in Wolfreton (?) just outside of Milton Keynes, about 10 years ago. After a lucklustre audience response, we thought we hadn't gone down too well, but one of the punters gave me £20 to get the band a round, and another said 'you were great, you didn't get bottled or nothing'. Apparently the previous band to play there had been bottled off - and no chicken wire! After the gig we were locked in the pub for our safety as there were pitched battles going out outside, which was a regular occurance.
17. On Friday The Junkyard Dogs played the Charlie Butler, Mortlake, in that London. www.JunkYardDogsLondon.co.uk Happy Jack is the bassist and I play one of the guitars. My parents are down for a visit so they came with my partner. Rick the other guitarist brought a few people so already the small pub was looking fuller than it normally does! It did actually fill up quite nicely. Now that I'm a guitarist I spent most of each set unhappy with my sound ( ) but listening back to the recording of the gig after the first set the overall sound of the band as a whole is quite good. The pub has a limiter - bypassed - even so we were not as loud as we would normally be. The punters were in to it, parents loved it, got paid and offered another date, so another one chalked up as a success
18. nope, all or nothing. I replaced my valve amp for one with MOSFETS.
19. If I hadn't bought what I did, I would probably have bought that. Not much use to you, but have a bump on me!
20.
Has anyone got experience of claiming on the Musicians Union instrument insurance?
that's who I'm with. I've never claimed but their small print isn't as small as other companies. eg gear is covered in use, in transit, on stage...
21. the worst ones, are where the punters have to walk through the 'stage area' to get to the toilets.
22. who's going to start the next thread: Blimey, Mani leaves BassChat!
