1.
I don't think the forum software providers are going to make it more Kindle friendly, but I think the Kindle browser will get better as it's developed.
bu993r! I just want to be able to log in.
2.
a bump for I.
& another.
3.
Is this the real tribute band thread? I'm becoming disorientated.
Real tribute? Isn't that like genuine copy
4. used to have a similar one, only got rid because I went back to 4 strings. Quality basses, very much underated.
5.
The MU were not interested, of course.
Did you have a contract? Not much they can do if you don't.
6. what about bands who become their own tribute bands? 3 bands doing this in different ways: Kiss - back to the original clobber and members The Sugarbabes - no original members. The Sweet - Andy Scott plus whoever cleaning up worldwide on the nostalgia circuit.
7.
London types - I guess that means Macdaddy - I'm very much up for lift sharing / splitting petrol costs etc - let me know via PM if that's possible - if not no worries - I'm south London based but can meet somewhere if that helps
pm'd
8.
I would have thought that it would be in any band's interest to do as much promotion as possible irrespective of whether the venue/promoter/booking agent had done any. These days it's quick, cheap and easy to use social media to get the word out that you are playing. Even a thread in the gigs forum here could bring a couple of extra faces in the audience.
this
9.
But why let the facts stand in the way of a good moan? In addition to looking 'crap'; not being made in the USA; being badly built out of toothpick shavings by child convict labour and contributing to the wholesale deforestation of the African continent, I can now confirm the following. The MM series: * Fiddles its expenses * Caused the banking crisis * Is oppressing 'little people' up and down the country * Killed Duck Dunn with a polonium-laced 'cocktail' * Indulges in satanic rituals involving blood-drinking and human sacrifice * Is favoured by Illuminati everywhere as well as the Broderbond house band.
Agreed! I'm gonna burn mine tonight
10. Old Git (former member RIP) would have had some advice here. Although the first thing he would have asked would probably have been 'what did the band do to advertise the gig?'.
11.
I've seen some real horror stories about these guitars on other forums. Its great that the OP is really pleased with his, but one example of a good guitar is not representative of a whole range (nor is one bad guitar for that matter).
Before purchasing mine I read all the reviews I could find. I saw the ones which mentioned sharp fret edges and dodgy paint work, but no horror stories. Got any links?
12. Brutal! Bit of a Les Claypool influence? Like!
13. Behringer X V-Amp Guitar Effects Processor. In original box with manual and psu. I have been using it for at least one gig a month since October, so concerns in some reviews about it being made of plastic and not durable are bollox. I'm only getting rid because I have a J Station which I got to save space as it can be used for bass and guitar - so I'm selling my bass and guitar effects. £19.99
14.
When and where is the se bass bash?
South East Bass Bash No.6, Surrey, Saturday 29th September 2012 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/179031-south-east-bass-bash-no6-surrey-saturday-29th-september-2012/page__fromsearch__1
15. it's the first time I've found listening to Nirvana tolerable.
16. Boss ME-50B available at SE Bassbash £80.00 so perfect place to try before you buy. Has a couple of signs of having been gigged and used, but nothing major and works perfectly. Not in original box, and manual has been printed from Boss website, but does come with a psu. Not posting, so only available for collection at the SE Bassbash.
17. sounds a bit like the start of a joke, but no. As it says - a couple of suprises http://music.msn.com...spx?news=754433
18. The Junkyard Dogs on a school night! Thursday August 30th 9.00pm FREE Plough Inn, 297 Northfield Avenue, Ealing, London 020 8567 1416 It's our first appearance at this venue. Come and see what the fuss is about. http://ploughnorthfields.co.uk/
19. A landlord at a pub we play told us his punters don't like Country (and Western). So we dropped Folsom Prison Blues from the set. I don't really think it's an issue, there are plenty of songs to play.
20.
Bottom line is Fodera have been going since 1983. If their instruments didn't sell at their price point, they wouldn't exist any more.
unless they were laundering money for organised crime, £7K through the till - small change!
21.
Me please. Ta.
First or fourth?
22. I think some posts raise an interesting question - at what price point is a good bass good, rather than being 'good for the money'?
23.
Would it be any better than a bass that cost 4 grand? I wonder. Us mere mortals I doubt will never get to play something that expensive.....
there were a couple of Fodera's at the last SE Bassbash. Not sure they were the 7 grand ones though.
24. one Ritter?
