1. Does intelluctual property rights not apply?
 2.
My apologies! Haha, I used to have both so got mixed up, make that an EDB 600, I'll change it in the morn!
still waiting for that change
 3. last night's gig was very much a last minute affair - the call came through at lunchtime. A gig on a school night? What the hell, why not. It was for a do in a pub on the river (Thames), not sure if it was a birthday or engagement, but we announced both. Despite being asked to play quietly for the first few numbers, then turn up as more people were in the pub, we had a full dance floor and the punters seemed to like us. There were a couple of minor issues (i need to have another look at my noise gate) but overall a great paid rehearsal for our gig next week - details to follow on the gigs forum. They even had Old Peculiar on tap - dangerous for a school night! Unfortunately my enduring memory of the night, will be that on the way home on the tube, a woman opposite projectile vomited on the woman sat next to me. I sh1t you not.
 4. Good gig, MacWifey enjoyed it too Great db sound too, a lot of clarity and not just a dull thunk. unfortunately I won't be able to make the November one as my uni course is on Wednesdays .
 5. at the moment i rarely play any of mine, as I play guitar in the band I'm currently in. It's nice just having them here though, sort of like a comfort thing.
 6.
Do you know that the companies doing so aren't paying royalties or a licence fee to use the names? Who are you talking about?
Good point, no I don't know. But having seen the disclaimer spinynorman posted - and similar ones from other companies - I'd hazzard a guess there are no royalties. Could be wrong though.
 7.
Please add me to the list. Thanks.
first or fourth (or fifth)?
 8.
how can you trademark a sound? You can patent the circuit that makes that sound if it's special enough - but a specfic tone? sure I can deconstruct that and remake it digitally to make a look-a-like, cos it's not the real thing- it's a digital copy.
but if I make a digital copy of my vinyl albums then sell them, that's illegal.
 9. So it's illegal to copy music, copyright infringement applies to instruments, but it's okay to copy an amp sound - say which amp it's meant to sound like - then sell it? Confused?
 10. can bring to the SE Bassbash to try before buying. Remarkable bit of kit, don't be put off buy Behringer naysayers! I'm only getting rid because I have a J Station which I got to save space as it can be used for bass and guitar - so I'm selling my bass and guitar effects. BTW the whammy sim is great fun lol
 11.
Had a look at this and it looks worthwhile.. Are there any other good causes people want to suggest we donate to?
Can I suggest The Amber Trust? http://www.ambertrust.org/ "The AMBER Trust was created to help blind and partially sighted children, who have a talent or a love for music. Music really is of special importance to these children.... For others, many of whom have severe learning difficulties, music therapy may offer a lifeline, helping them to reach out in a dark and confusing world."
 12. oooh! beaten by seconds in to second

 14. just seen this. Could be up for it, have added it to the diary.
 15.
I don't think the forum software providers are going to make it more Kindle friendly, but I think the Kindle browser will get better as it's developed.
bu993r! I just want to be able to log in.
 16.
a bump for I.
& another.
 17.
Is this the real tribute band thread? I'm becoming disorientated.
Real tribute? Isn't that like genuine copy
 18. used to have a similar one, only got rid because I went back to 4 strings. Quality basses, very much underated.
 19.
The MU were not interested, of course.
Did you have a contract? Not much they can do if you don't.
 20. what about bands who become their own tribute bands? 3 bands doing this in different ways: Kiss - back to the original clobber and members The Sugarbabes - no original members. The Sweet - Andy Scott plus whoever cleaning up worldwide on the nostalgia circuit.
 21.
London types - I guess that means Macdaddy - I'm very much up for lift sharing / splitting petrol costs etc - let me know via PM if that's possible - if not no worries - I'm south London based but can meet somewhere if that helps
pm'd
 22.
I would have thought that it would be in any band's interest to do as much promotion as possible irrespective of whether the venue/promoter/booking agent had done any. These days it's quick, cheap and easy to use social media to get the word out that you are playing. Even a thread in the gigs forum here could bring a couple of extra faces in the audience.
this
 23.
But why let the facts stand in the way of a good moan? In addition to looking 'crap'; not being made in the USA; being badly built out of toothpick shavings by child convict labour and contributing to the wholesale deforestation of the African continent, I can now confirm the following. The MM series: * Fiddles its expenses * Caused the banking crisis * Is oppressing 'little people' up and down the country * Killed Duck Dunn with a polonium-laced 'cocktail' * Indulges in satanic rituals involving blood-drinking and human sacrifice * Is favoured by Illuminati everywhere as well as the Broderbond house band.
Agreed! I'm gonna burn mine tonight
