1.
I'm a big fan of the Schubb Talon. Holds the bass more upright than the Hercules and folds down really flat. But, like the Herc or more so, great for home and sedate rehearsals but... not to be trusted in a "busy" envioronment.
doh! beat me to it. I use mine on stage with no worries though.
2. only 3 at the moment, but I have various guitars too. For me it's a space issue more than anything
3. Pink works for me!
4. what do you want to change this time?
5. I know I'd miss it if it was gone, but it's been over 3 years since it's seen any action.
6. I love my rig, it's small, loud and sounds great and even has a cool blue light strip I originally got it because I changed cars, and the boot in my new motor was too small for my the PJB rig I had. Anyhoo, I no longer have a car, and previous bands I've been in I haven't used it. I used rehearsal studio amps, and DI'd or used provided backline for gigs. So for the last few years it has just been taking up space. So, I'm thinking of putting it up for sale or trade. This is probably another of those do I/we need an amp threads
7. I bought this from a Basschatter 3-4 years ago, played about with it twice, and it has been in it's box on a shelf ever since. Cracking piece of kit, check out the Music Tech review: http://www.roland.co...he%20BR-600.pdf £99.00 and I'll post it for a tenner. cheers McD Edited for sale price.
8. I'm playing lead guitar in Happy Jack's band: http://www.lemonrock.com/junkyarddogs last night was at The Barley Mow in Shepperton. Lovely pub good beer. Not much space, the bands are in a corner, but went well and had lots of people dancing for the second set.
9.
I know of a bloke who, whilst adopting a similar pose, put the headstock of his Les Paul into a ceiling fan...
that is a mixture of and
Yeah, I can imagine how embarassing that must've been...
Apparently Stacey's Mom has got it going on.
10. Big Bottom cover imminent?
11. nothing embarrasing as such, but once at a gig I held aloft my bass in mighty rock pose, and was then covered in polysterene from the roof tiles in the low ceiling I had just put the bass through.
12. well as my formative years were in the 80's and I dug that whole scene, Great White all the way for me
13. 1st owned: Ibanez Blazer Bass - bought for about £50.00 in 1988. Good bass, amazing VFM, nice neck, light but with plenty of bottom end. Go to: Iceni Custom - awesome J type neck (my preference), active or passive, can cover most musical ground. My bass: Shuker custom - my design and spec. 'Nuff said!
14.
If you bring your fiddle, it's going in a skip.
i'll send them over, you head them in
15.
Let us know how you get on! I've dug mine out after reading this and going to try using it as a delay pedal until my Deluxe Memory Boy arrives. Also going to try out the 'Slow Gear' sim on one of our tunes, I've got one little part that's crying out for it. Rehearsal tonight, hopefully I'll get it set up nice and quick, don't want to be one of those guitarists who's always dicking about with his pedals!
I'm still fiddling about with the distortions, the metal setting seems to work okay for lead, but I haven't found a rhythm setting I'm happy with. I'm not after anything too heavy. Using the wah to take off the top end seems to work. I've a reheasal tonight with the combo so will have a fiddle.
16.
I think your reply was taking the piss, if not I've got it wrong. My bad. I've read it again, and it sounds like you are sarcastically implying that no-one would be interested in trawling local music shops for someone else. If you were being serious, then i apologise, doesnt read that way though, to me anyway.
Yep, you got it wrong. But apology accepted.
17.
errr, No, because i know someone who has a Squire Jazz bass, 5 years old, never played, with a Trace Elliott green carpet Boxer 65 combo, again untouched, and wants pennies for the set, so if this guy was local, it might work. Trying to help someone out, but as usual, not able to do that on BC without some sarcy comment from someone with no relevance to the thread. In future i will stick to responding to specific threads i'm interested in, and not waste time actually bothering to try and help people.who are new on here, and could maybe do with some advice, or a bargain pointing in their direction. Location is quite important when buying/selling gear, especially cheap gear, as the cost of shipping can often be more than the price of the gear. And yes, there are some friendly basschatters on here, although you probably havent experienced that, i wonder why?
what sarcy comment? A post suggested trawling the music shops, so if we know the location a nearby basschatter could be up for joining in. Entirely relevant to the thread. Not sure why you think I haven't experienced friendly basschatters?
18. If it's too loud, you're too old. - Ted Nugent posted by the guy who has been using earplugs since age 18
19. a few years ago the band I was in scored a couple of festival gigs in Europe. I decided to source a bass that could do the job, was light, had a j neck, and that I wouldn't be heartbroken over should Easyjet (it wasn't quite the big time) baggage handlers be a tad overzealous. £150.00 got me a rather nice active Bass Collection. Definately the best VFM bass I've had.
20.
Whereabouts are you based??
this, because there's probably a friendly neighbourhood basschatter near you who wouldn't object to trawling the music shops with you.
21. so far the majority vote love it. If I had it I'd do the Phil Lynott thing, where he had the light shinning directly on his chrome pickguard all the time
22. MacDaddy

Weight!!

the most comfortable strap I had was one of those stretchy ones. Trouble was as soon as you took a stap the bass would jump up and try break your jaw.
