As upright basses are usually static, we can't run around stage throwing shapes and posing like what we can with bass guitars. What do you do, if anything, to have a bit of stage presence with an upright?

Final rehearsal before Friday's gig. I'm always happy to say how great the Behringer BDI21 is, but it doesn't really work with an EUB. Not that the rest of the band noticed 🤷🏻‍♂️ Backline is provided so gear I'm taking to the gig will be minimal. EUB/stand, lead, spare battery, clip on tuner.

Happened again last night at rehearsal. Took a long time go get a playing position that felt right. This never happens at home!

I've had a pluck on that. Surprisingly playable, full size db's are not as scary as they appear! 😆

But @Steve Lawson holding up a bass guitar and saying "this does not come with an instruction manual" was pretty mind-blowing and changed the way I approached playing.

What about the stand legs? Do you have one between your feet, or are you stood in the gap?

Has anyone used their Elf as a DI box? Is that a thing?

Out of interest, which festivals and how did you book them?

Wednesday. It occurred to me that using wireless for my EUB is pretty pointless - it's on a stand and not moving. I'm still not sure how I like the stand position - standing over the legs or between them. Once I managed to get a decent sound out of the combo things were ok and the band sounded great. It was only my second rehearsal with the EUB and we're gigging next week.

Also, I'm still not sure what the best position for the stand is.

Last rehearsal was a weird one. Took a long time to get a decent sound from the studio combo. Not sure if it's been tweaked to my liking, as I have no frame of reference. Gig on 1st November.

Dunc sold me a Elf. Perfect condition and with all the right bits. The Elf was good too 😜

This time I bought a Boss PW-10 wah pedal. Item as described, boxed, and as always a pleasure to deal with 😎

Form and function! 😆 Shuker 4 will probably be fanfret, with a couple of tweaks.

I currently have 3 Shuker's (with plans for another) all are 32" 😁

The fan is surprisingly loud. Can't imagine it's an issue at a gig though. Sounds great 😸
