  1. Physiologically the symptoms of nervousness and excitement are the same. You can use this to your advantage. If you start to feel nervous, give a big smile and take a deep breath, and while smiling think about how well you're going to play. Repeat as necessary.
  2. Don't shoot yourselves in foot on the basis of "apparently". Misunderstandings, quoting out of context etc do occur. Make sure you're sure. If you are and you cancel the gig, much respect! 👍🏻
  3. Not long back from rehearsal. Hard work to start with. Took a long time to sort levels, the room acoustics didn't help, and the studio bass stack, a TC Electronics BQ500 with a Hartke 4x10 and TC Electronics 1x15 sounded appalling. Ended up using my Peavey Vypyr VIP 3. Managed to play all songs in the set list, so worthwhile as the next gig is on Thursday.
  4. A dressing room full of hookers and a mountain of coke. As everyone else has said, if the audience are into it.
  5. When are Behringer releasing their clone?
  6. Toxic - Brittany Spears Naive - The Kooks
  7. I don't play like him, sound like him, or look like him, but he's the reason I started this.
  8. It was when Lillian Axe did it! 😎
  9. The tee shirt from Primark with all the bass combos on it.
  10. So, Nile Rodgers & Nile Rodgers?
  11. It's not really "& CHIC" is it? 😟
  12. Maybe have a rule that on the hour for 15 minutes amps are turned off / muted?
  13. Similar thing happened to me a few gigs ago, fortunately @Happy Jack was on hand to sort out the speakon cable which wasn't fully inserted in to the cab.
  14. Last gig while soundchecking, no sound from the bass. Soundguy "Is the amp switched on?". Me "yes". Now in my defence it looked like the amp light was on. But it was an outside gig and it was just the sun shining on it, making it look bright. When the sound walked over and turned the amp on I looked like a right 🤬 I've only been gigging for 40 years 😖
  15. Mine balances quite well, but it's an earlier one and doesn't have the metal plate on the back.
  16. Not quite, it's short scale 29" but the difference isn't too noticeable.
  17. Mainly open strings I'm guessing?
  18. The Exploited , when they headlined F*CK Reading in 1996. It was so loud pitch was indistinguishable. And I was wearing earplugs. We left after the first 2 noise assaults.
  19. Paid rehearsal.
  20. @Clarky are you back in a metal band?
  21. What did the punters make of it?
