I've played different gigs as support to female strippers and male strippers (The Dream Boys). Guess which was more fun? Actually the Dream Boys gig, coz we got free booze and food!

I know the brother of no1 pop star Ellie Goulding, via an internet forum for bass players

are we all signing this one?

I used to have 2 red Kubicki's. When gigging it made sense having the spare bass the same as the one being played. Having said that, one was made by Phil Kubicki and the other was made by the Fender custom shop and had better electronics.

I've mentioned him before, but Peter King is criminally lacking in the renown he deserves - and would probably have if he was from the States.
–verb (used with object), verb (used without object) 1.to mock, tease, or jest in a good-natured way; banter: They joked and chaffed with each other. –noun 2.good-natured ridicule or teasing; raillery: "I don't suppose you have an analogue delay pedal in here for £75 or so?" "Not a f***ing prayer, you lecherous old goat."
ah, my mistake. I thought you were using an algorithm for solving instances of the boolean satisfiability problem in programming.
Vintage & Rare A pleasant young lady informs me they don’t stock them, but I should try Macaris. I admire her charms and an old Melody Maker. We chaff for a while and I leave, having been made to feel entirely welcome. Their stock isn’t really high-end. Mostly £1k-3k guitars in reasonable nick, but not much exotica. Nice, workmanlike instruments, shall we say.
in public

For 2 hours on stage Cetera is The Demon  Sorry I didn't get chance to say hi after, had to run for the Tube. Good to meet up with Thunderbird13 and Mrs Thunderbird13. Quality gig. Comments from my mates included 'Paul Stanley can really sing like Paul Stanley' & 'your mate is the best in the band' .

London Guitarcentre/Andysguitarnet/Spanish Guitarcentre London?
MacDaddy replied to blackparkas's topic in General Discussion
I am unsure whether there is any connection between Andysguitarnet and Andy's Guitars, the now-defunct retailer previously occupying premises on Denmark St. The latter has incurred some particularly pungent criticism from several members here, relating to allegedly questionable business practices.
nothing allegedly about Andrew John Preston and his questionable business practices. I have the court papers from when he stole my Fender Bassman 135 head - sold it and didn't give me the money - but he managed to claim bankruptcy while still keeping hold of his Rolls Royce. (I have the legal papers from this too) IMO he is scum of the most vile order and should be avoided at all costs regardless of where he is know working. The above is my opinion alone backed up by the legal documents I have which are a matter of public record. I am willing to share these records. Opinion in this post is not necessarily that of Basschat, it's owners or users. -
Anybody else found their holy grail bass of versatility??

Fender Precision! Believe it or not.
I do beleive it! My custom Shuker has a single pup, no tone control, but it has a ramp that covers most of the area under the strings. Adjusting position and technique makes it mightly versatile for me.
Hey there guys, I must admit, its a bit crazy as I bought it as a means of quiet practising and portability having moved up to Sheffield and all my gigging gear being down in London. Im just too used to causing a racket with all my pedals through an amp and playing about with sounds with a proper bass response from the amp. I've also got a Sansamp BDDI Deluxe, A tonehammer to do all the good amp sounds. Coupled with that I have a good fuzz, octaver, filter, wah and some modulation pedals which do pretty much what this bass XT does. So, Im looking for a cash sale, a Microkorg (still after one of those) with cash from me, a real sucker for old style EHX stuff, a practise amp, VT Bass + cash, a nice spanish/classical guitar. Try me for any good pedals or any warmoth P bodies. Based in SHeffield, travel to London regularly in the weekends. Its not got a box but has a brand new PX2 psu and its in good condition.
pm'd.

have a great gig in Cambridge, but don't peak too soon, leave something for that London
Oh yeah......... Orianthi is hot.
initially I was thinking 'Jennifer Batten has aged well'. doh IMO it could have been so much more. It looks like the deliberate cash-in that it is, rather than a fitting tribute.
Now upped to a 5 string with thru body
pics!

if you are anywhere near that London and are going to the London Bassbash, I'll take mine and you can have a fiddle.
-
As general rule - 1 finger per fret. that has the first 4 frets covered. If your little finger is on the 4th fret, you should be able to move your hand so your index finger is on the 5 fret without looking, then you have postions 5, 6, 7, and 8 covered. Adjust for what key or position you start on. I tend to find looking at the fretboard gets in the way of throwing shapes and posing
