1. I have a Belinea 17inch monitor free to anyone who wants to collect. It's in perfect working order but it is one of the older ones so quite big and heavy. Free to collector, but bear in mind I live on the 7th floor. There is a lift though. PM me if you want it, I'm in that London W3. GONE.
 2.
I have taken a look on the web at the various products mentioned so far and - while they all seem to deliver what I need - most have much greater functionality than I need TBH. If that is what is available then fine and I will try and decide which one to buy. However I was wondering if there is a simple plug-and-play option with perhaps little more than basic gain and tone controls (I don't want to play much with tone as I like the tone from my P basses) and an XLR output for the backline? I spotted this DHA model for example which is very utilitarian but maybe does what I need? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DHA-VT1-Std-Bass-ove...=item48390f60da Has anyone tried one of these? Edit: just seen it needs an external power supply which is not ideal, I prefer a battery powered pedal for convenience.
I can comment on the other pedals, but my MXR-80 does the job for me. If you want something cheap and cheerful though the Behringer BDI21 may do. 4.
I second this nomination. It's a practical morphological derivative.
+1 and having now used the word regearsal myself we can claim it has entered the lexicon And Beedster, come on, we're waiting for pics!
 5.
After all, the VAT element is never really part of their income -- it belongs to HMRC, who'll get it in the venue's next VAT return. It'll never go into the "Sales" ledger in their accounts.
It may be interesting if someone was to ask HMRC if this money has been declared
 6.
Well, what are the famous ground-breaking planks? Tele Strat Les Paul Precision Jazz Stingray All designed by non-players. And 5 out of 6 by Leo Fender. Hats off to him. Even such popular horrors as the Flying V and Explorer were designed by Ted McCarty. And the Gibson Thunderbird, IIRC, was designed by a car designer (dunno if he played too, though). So, yeah: which famous ground breaking planks were designed by players?
And the Steinberger but again designed by a non-player.

 9. I have the ER20 Baby Blues. They are designed for the smaller ear canal, so if like me you find the normal ER20's uncomfortable they could be the answer. Shop around and you may get them cheaper http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...G&A=details
 10. I have 2 straplocks on my strap. One high up for the technical difficult stuff, and one low down for posing
 11.
Thanks. Yes, i'd also like to hear it with a passive bass too. I think it's 5kg MacDaddy. I wonder what the wattage is at 8ohms.
ta.
 12. Good demo. I liked all the tones, all usuable even the extreme examples - except the full on treble with everything else cut (reminded me of the last time I saw the UK Subs!). How much does it weigh?
 13. thanks for the kind offer Jay, but as Bilbo's came in first I'll take him up. Bilbo you have pm.
 14.
I've got one that I put together. Doesn't feel as right to me as the one with the standard neck though.
How does it sound, does the J neck make a difference?
 15. I have Audacity, what I no longer have is a tape player
 16. Hi I want to convert a cassette recording of a live gig by my old band to mp3. Is there anyone in that London who could help? A few beers would find themselves going your way cheers McD
 17. I always wanted a P with a J neck, but they always seemed to do versions the other way around.
 18.
Allegedly.
no allegedly about it, Cliff and Jet admit it. Cliff had an affair with Jet’s wife, one from which the marriage, and in some ways Jet himself, never recovered. For 30 years, the loyal Jet never mentioned this, not even to Cliff himself. It only became public when his ex, Carol Costa, made it so; and this year Cliff referred to the sorry saga, albeit fleetingly, in his autobiography. from http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...n-princess.html
 19.
Is that the well-documented occasion in 1962 when he left the band in a fearful strop, taking his instrument with him?
I'd probably have done the same if a vocalist in my band had shagged my wife.
 20.
Thanks for the suggestion guys. I actually don't need amps simulation for what i'm doing now. I'll check the Line 6 Pod XT and the Line 6 M13 but i'm still more orientated towards the pedals option. Also because i don't feel like browsing thru hundreds of useless sounds to find those ones i need. cheers! .ric.
the Boss ME 50B and Line 6 Floor Pod can be used like pedals.
 21.
Did several gigs before Christmas with a band who played Easy Livin'. Funnily enough, their whole set consisted of UH songs. They sounded pretty authentic to me. There was some geezer called Mick Box playing guitar.
"if this band make it, I'll commit suicide". One for the Heap faithful there
 22. still have the live gatefold album with the program in the middle from '73. Love the Heap
 23. some multi fx are simple - Boss ME 50B, Line 6 Floor Pod. A multi is more convenient, one pedal including a tuner, meaning only one power supply etc. An advantage of pedals is that if one breaks you still have the others, with a multi if you break it the whole thing could stop working. I tend to buy things assuming they are going to work and look after them, so I'd go for the multi. This of course leads to the next problem of which one
