I got some studio monitors from them. The packaging looked a bit grotty but they work fine. Could have returned them, guy on the phone was very helpful, but no need. The only problem was, they were delivered when I wasn't in, so I had to pick them up from the delivery depot, which was 10 miles away. They still work fine, and were a great price.

yep, they are soon on tour. I think the original soundtrack album was re-recorded at some point too.

I saw this on Partysounds, not my thing but might be a heads up for someone on here? The band seem quite established, they've done TV appearances in Europe, and offer a 3 month paid retainer? WANTED: male/female Keyboard Player and Bass Player for Livan, a Prog/Rock band signed with Pumpkin Music. Needed for gigging/rehearsals. A 3 month paid retainer, starting asap. If interested please contact with influences, experience and a photo. . . http://www.myspace.com/livanmusic

12stringbassist - nice collection!
i bought a charvel star not long ago i like the sound (seymour duncans p+j ) but it is attracted to hitting things being so pointy plays fine though and no balance issues here it is in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbT8_Lx_fx4...re=channel_page
Down strokes all the way! Sweet bass. I just did a Google and am sorely tempted by this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Charvel-Star-Bass-Ve...6QQcmdZViewItem
Thats a bit of a bummer!
Another one due Friday But, I've been discussing the thumbchum with Jon. As the top of it will be the thumb rest - so the right hand position can be anywhere from the bridge to the neck - I want to make sure it's not too high. Jon is going to keep it at pretty much equal to the top of the p pup. There's a slight curve to the top, you can see on the pic, but Jon said he might be able to reduce the width a little if needed. I'm prepared to trust his judgement on what is comfortable, and I've told him I've got small hands
+1 for the MU cover, even though it only covers you as an individual. I've got this and I'm covered for whatever band I play in...I try to encourage everyone in bands I'm a part of to join the MU just for the free liability insurance and free instrument insurance - some people are reluctant because of the cost of being in the MU, but if a band needs insurance, it'll have to be paid for in one way or another.
The MU subsciption is cheaper than any insurance premium I've found - and reading the small print to find a policy that actually pays if things get nicked/damaged! I'm getting the student rate which is less than a fiver a month. I think that is amazing value.

I've got a body, that I intend doing things with, but maybe not for a year or so - possibly longer. Do I need to make any special effort for storing it, or is the back of a cupboard good enough? BTW it is a bass body!
- I've provided the English translations as well.
Was it Oscar Wilde, something along the lines of 'England and The United States, 2 countries divided by the same language'
Is that not numerical? As opposed to 3 quavers to the beat, and 12 quavers in the bar. I think my post was a bit confussing, sorry Garry
If we are talking about 1/8 notes, then wouldn't you expect there to be 8 of them? In 12/8 I think explaining 3 1/8 to the beat, and 12 1/8 to the bar, is more confusing. In 3/4 there are 6 1/8 notes per bar, it loses all sense once we move out of 4/4. I'm happy using the conventions developed over 1000 years of written notation .
I used a Traben Array 5-string LTD in my band for a time. We were doing stuff between Prog and Mathcore and it certainly cut through! It's got a MM humbucker @ bridge and Sopabar at the neck. Didn;t like the feel though but it certainly cuts through. I don't use it no more and it collects dust...unfortunatly.
For sale section?
As I couldn't afford a GUS bass and would love a thunderbird which wasn't neck heavy and prone to breaking I thought that this was the next best thing. Needed some moding though. First the pickups were replaced with Seymour Duncans and some routing for a Gibson humbucker put right up next to the neck. One of the tone controls was changed for a 5 way rotary pickup selector switch. The rather crappy gibsonesque bridge was replaced with a tunomatic and thru-body stringing - bit like a flying V (had to add the chrome cover as the posts for the tunomatic had to be moved back a bit and the old holes plugged so the plugs needed covering), the plastic nut was replaced with a brass one and the rather boring black scratch plate replaced with a white one and a thunderbird decal added. Now its got decent J and P bass pickups with a Gibson bass humbucker (and combinations of), looks sort of Thunderbird/Explorer but is balanced and less likely to have its neck break.
so how does it sound?

If you don't like old school heavy metal, then this probably isn't going to change your mind! But if you don't mind a bit of Priest, Maiden, Saxon, Motorhead, Venom, Exodus, Accept, etc then you might enjoy it. http://www.myspace.com/arnikauk Old school heavy metal and proud of it!
So do i, In tandem with the time sig, it all makes numerical sense, especially for the beginner. Garry
not necessarily, it can be more confusing. If you are in 12/8 and you are talking about 1/8 notes, then you have three 1/8 notes per beat and twelve 1/8 notes to the bar.
