I used to have 2, one by Phil and one from the Fender custom shop. Lovely basses, always created a stir when I gigged . I gotta say though, the Fender one had better electronics and was tidier inside. Apart from the weight the only issue I had was that the lever that release the E string for the D, loses tension after a number of years and creates fret buzz all down the string. Have you experienced this? My custom build has the drop D but hopefully has rectified this.

From the Musicians Union website http://www.musiciansunion.org.uk/site/cms/...asp?article=438 Works Registration Service – Our new free service for 2007 The Works Registration Service is a free registration, dating and secure storage service intended to assist members in proving when their works were created. We provide a re-writable CD (one per member per year), onto which you can record whatever you want to protect - compositions, recordings, lyrics, artwork, data, etc – in whatever format you want. You then seal the CD in the cover provided and post it to us, post a second copy to yourself by Special Delivery and keep a third copy for reference. If one of your works is infringed then registration with the Works Registration Service can help you prove when your work was created. Proving which work was created first is often a vital factor in successfully prosecuting or defending a copyright infringement claim. For more information contact your Regional Office.
6. If you want cheap 'n cheerful how about the Behringer - Sansamp clone?
7. You know those paintings by Dali, with the melting clocks? It looks as though it could be the bass equivalent. Can't wait to see the body contoured and painted! BTW what colour are you going for?
8. I read the first page of this thread a while ago, I see it again at 6 pages long and check out the last page and there's arguments about using the word gay? In a thread about expensive basses
9. I like I can't afford
10. that is lovely - apart from being the wrong way round!
11. The MU have lobbied for their members to be able to take instruments aboard as hand luggage. It's still a bit of a lottery though with inconsistent policies across airlines and countries. But as a member you have more chance than a non-member.
12. Best gig I've ever seen was Twisted Sister but tomorrow I have a jazz lecture on jazz improvisation from legendary jazz sax player Peter King
13. I like it, love that style I'm guessing it would sound great live. Not overly impressed with the guitar sounds, but that's just me - I know it's only a demo.

16.
Whenever I walk away from my rig I pocket the fuses. I take my bass in its gig bag everywhere. Whenever anyone says 'Can I have a go' I say 'Sorry, no'. The inevitable 'Why? Oh go on!' is responded to with 'Put 7 grand in my hand right now and you can have a go, anything happens to any of my gear at all and I pocket all the cash' shuts them up.
You're gonna be great fun at a Bass Bash! Just joking, the Bashes are a different environment, and I've never seen any disrespect to anyones gear.
17. was actually last Saturday. Gig was great, we went topless, got 2 encores (I'm sure that's not related ). I had some problems to begin with though. It was the first time I'd used my Iceni through my stack in anger. The sound check sounded ok, but when we kicked off I was too loud (made a change - the bass been too loud!) and and a bit toppy for my liking. Not sure how that happened. My stack was behind the drummer so getting to it to make adjustments wasn't easy, so I adjusted the volume and EQ on my bass, with lots of 'does this sound ok now' motions to a mate in the crowd LOL.
18. Is it the guy from Rage Against the Machine, who tunes BEAD on a 34" but with a reverse headstock so the B string has more length, which it is alleged makes it more stable and sonorous?
