1. If anyone is going from South West London and has a spare seat let me know. I'll share petrol costs.
  2.
How long is a piece of string?
I do actually have a piece of string, kept specially for this purpose, so that when people ask I can tell them exactly how long it is. Although Tee's reply will suffice
  3. it's not small, it's compact and bijou
  4. Piccies?
  5.
Well once its gone il be playing through A Mark Bass 4x10.. Even though the 6x10 is light to carry round, im not doing the gigs that need this kind of power. 4x10 is enough for me..
what head?
  6.
Have to agree with this 100%. We spent about £6000 on lawyers fees looking over our contracts. Took 3 months going back and forth ironing out all the issues.
Not in the MU? Could have saved yourself 6 grand! It's worth the monthly sub for the £2k of free instrument insurance alone, but when you figure in to it all the free legal and contract advice I'm amazed more musicians haven't joined
  7. Another Corkhead! Welcome to the forum.
  8. Hey Jason so once the Mark Bass rig is gone will you still have something to play through, or will the sale fund a GAS purchase? McD

  10.
Perfect game plan. Nothing but respect for them
I remember the ads when the band was being formed. The fat blond guy was left over from when the management formed Busted, so they formed McFly around him. The ads were in The Stage and the NME. I was way over the age limit but thought it might have been a laugh to turn up.
  11.
Your method of jettisoning the drummer is interesting too, don't get me wrong, but the stuff about the beer is just too important to leave unresolved. S.P.
+1
Don't make ememies on your way up - you never know who you'll meet on your way down. I can't remember where I heard that but, I can't see any harm in it.
we're all on the way up? Yay!
DX7's.
remember how convincing the brass sounds were on the DX7's the first time you heard them
  12.
Hard-Fi? Stars Of CCTV is the album that I think you are referring to. S.P.
that's the fella!
  13. re. the bit in the OP about home recordings. The band with 'CCTV' in one of their album titles, lists where the album tracks were recorded, and it was mostly home done, but professionally mastered. There will always be exceptions to the rule, and new bands will make it. And this will still give the false glimmer of hope to the rest of us.

    Guild B302

Just watched So Hard To Beat, the program about bands from Northern Ireland. When they were doing the Stiff Little Fingers, their bassist has what looks like a white Guild B-30something. Looks well sweet.
  15.
Aye i thought it was the Zoot shape like mine, the one shared by the Chaser, Performer et al. A quick look on the site and Mike has all their production basses under the Zoot banner including the Fendery one. The Boudica was just called the Iceni Boudica though i think Confusing stuff!
The Funkmeister isn't a Zoot. I think mine is a custom Zoot. Is there a thread for Mike's basses in the porn section? If not who's gonna start one?
  16. will be pm you as soon as I've finished writing this.
  17.
I really don't care if you want to consider it advertising, an article or a description of one man's experience - it was fascinating to read and thank you very much for posting it Kiwi. If you ever get invited to some other workshops, make sure you post some info on them too.
+1
  18. innocent until proven guilty. Come on, give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
  19.
An old Jazz (in showroom condition) with a supposed history going for £2100 He had bought all the parts in the last month or so, all clearly visible in his feedback I sent him a message explaining how hilarious it was!
speechless
  20. Another shout for the for sale section here. Go on have a browse with no obligation to buy, but wipe your feet first .
  21. I missed it. What was it?
  22.
Yes, John needs to come and close this one down, too. Perhaps we ought to have a Victor Wooten Appreciation Thread pinned, only for people who actually appreciate him?
Fair enough, but I think peoples opinions on why they dislike, are just as valid so long as they don't deteriorate in to a slanging match. Contrary views are needed, The Home of Deep Discussion, and all that.
  23.
This is all getting out of hand again. If it helps to diffuse things., I think the baby Jesus, bunny rabbits and puppies are very nice.
so you hate the adult Jesus?
  24.
So do we.
We do too.
