1. Now living in that London (SW) and still want to swap for the simpler life.
 2.
So I fancy trying to get some official grades, in the hope that it'll put me on the path of getting the theory down. However, looking at the site they don't seem to have grades for Bass guitar, even though I've heard of people taking them. So do they exist? Do they just make you take the ones for guitar?
Thet do exist, try the ABRSM, or The Associate Board of the Royal School of Music. Think they do them. Of course some people will say The Ox never had any grades, or Jaco...
 3. Does anyone going know about wireless transmitters? I think mine has a faulty ariel connection, and I'd be awfully grateful if someone could have a look
 4.
Is it the Otway trick of a strap peg in the bottom of the bass hung fronm a piece of string attached to your jeans button? Or it it held up by will power?
It could be Will Power. He's hiding just out of shot, holding the bass up
 5. use 3 fingers, nearer to the bridge when speed is needed. A bit of thumbing too, in the odd place can beef up the sound.
 6.
hey - I bought a return ticket from Waterloo for £11.50 - so that's me sorted - I'll probably get a cab to the venue from there... so er, see some of you there m
Hey Urb could possibly join you. I'll confirm nearer the time, but the train is looking like my best bet too. McD
 7.
anyone who has a me50b and doesnt want to swap for this is a complete twit
LOL! Ta

 9.
I'll be dropping down from Crystal Palace, through Croydon, Caterham, thence round the magic roundabout to the M3. Or, I might come out through Clapham/Wandsworth.
I'm gonna be living in Roehampton, would that put you too far out of the way?
 10.
If you manage to sell, selling my ME50B for £120 inc. postage. Kinda hoping it will go local first, so not yet listed here.
don't fancy a swap then?
 11. So after about 7 years of faultless performance my Audio Technica wireless finally decided to give up on me. No sound, but if you jiggle the ariel on the transmitter pac, it cuts in and out. I've emailed Audio Technica about a replacement transmitter, but have had no reply. Unfortunately they no longer make the model. So are transmitters fixable, or are they notoriously none fixable? If anyone near Luton fancies having having a fiddle I would be awfully grateful and honour bound to supply a few pints in the process.
 12. Gotta be Bootsy baby, no question
 13. so no-one wants to buy at this splendid price, or swap for a ME50-B? That's a shame, coz this is a great bit of kit which I will never be able to get the most out of.
 14. bum bum bump! Swap or sell.
 15. Gusto claims first prize. Apologies to Bennifer.

 17.
Hi, dont know if anyones interested in this topic,
It's what we're here for! I know there's a lot of people like me, who follow a lot of build threads, but don't necessarily post in them. Doesn't mean we're not interested!
 18. Luton Aid - Saturday 26th July. All day charity event at the University SU. We were the first band on at 2pm so I was expecting to be playing to the bar staff and the next band, but we actually had a fair sized audience. Only 30 mins, but it went so fast. One major mistake by the drummer - which we managed to cover and plough on, and one song played mainly as an instrumental as the vocalist couldn't hear anything and didn't know where he was, otherwise good gig and we went down quite well. I went through a mates Marshall stack. Sounded pants on stage, but FOH sounded great. Spent the rest of the day watching the rest of the bands and drinking student priced beer
 19.
I thought Ibanez really cracked down on people duplicating the monkey grip...
Can they do that, it's just a hole in the wood?
 20.
Hey MacDaddy, you could have the ramp kinda scalloped in where you needed to get your fingers in for popping. So the wood would still be there, albeit thinner, kinda like the cut down on my fingerboard, the other way round, see here >> If you did it that way, it'd still be a continuous piece of wood to the untrained eye... I agree with lwtait though, given where that precision pickup is sketched you ain't gonna have much room anyway. Hope this helps dude, when I get home, I can do you a proper drawing if it'll help to explain my idea a little clearer. Cheers, Eude
I see what you mean, good idea, I'll have a word with Jon. I think the the pup sketch is just there for a guide, I don't think that's it's final resting place.
 21. Hi I need a bit of advice. The original plan, was to have an all in one pup cover/ramp/thumb rest running from the bridge to the neck. Having played a few basses with ramps, I'm thinking slapping may be compromised? Is this the case, or will it just mean an adjustment of technique? Otherwise it will mean having to reshape the pup cover/ramp/thumb rest by the neck, which may destroy the aesthetic
 22.
on the back of the head i read: maximum load 4o what does it mean?!?
sure about that? The 8T is 16ohms? It runs down to 2ohms and puts out 720w It refers to impedance. Do a search, there have been threads where people have explained it better than I can.
 23.
http://www.recordoftheday.com/cgi-bin/rotd...37&expand=1 sounds like a deal is imminent.
Peter Jones did say on the show 'I know people at Sony, I'm not saying that's where I'll take you...' Hamfatter. I've heard the name before, were they one of the bands that didn't get very far on that Battle of the Bands show Jo Wiley, and the bassist from Blur did?
 24. IIRC it was meant to be future proofed, but Yamaha haven't given it the support needed since it was launched. So not many updates or new software. There's a thread with more advice somewhere...
