ooh! isn't it? I would! Lovely

not sure, it still has all its power. Its a Duracell plus, if that makes a difference?

I have my wireless in a laptop case, and have spare 9v batteries in one of the pockets. I pulled the case out yesterday for the first time in a few months, and one of the spare batteries was really hot. I have a battery tester and it still has all its power, it's normal temperature now and there are no leaks, but I'm assuming this is not good? If anyone knows what's going on, please tell me! cheers McD

All of them, I'd love to have kept everything including the amps I've had over the years.
I heard that Darryl Jones was being paid $20,000 a week by The Rolling Stones when touring and a smaller retainer when not. This sounds realistic for a huge act and the fact that Darryl is now an established member of the tours.
Back in the late 80's one of the muso's in the James Last Orchestra was asked why he stayed with them. He said the Orchestra work for 6 months of the year, but he still gets paid for the other 6. (the joke at the time was 'what's the difference between a cow, and the James Last Orchestra? the cow has the horns at the front and the tit at the back') Regardless of your opinion of the musical worth of the Spice Girls, it's a quality gig for a sessionist, and will undoubtedly lead to other work.

I remember hearing you should mix down on the crappest speakers possible. That way if you make it sound decent it will sound phenomenal on decent speakers. It doesn't work the other way round.

a perfectly pleasant way to while away a Saturday afternoon. A couple of notables for me; Kiwi's Celinder kicks out an obscene amount of bass and I'm not normally into fretless but Lukes GW Ibanez was a bit special. Nice one OBBM, looking forward to the next!
The wife isn't a fan of any of them, but she collects kids and I've given her 4 so far so it's a trade-off!
LMAO! the new man, alive and well
hey Mac here's a sound sample of your Shuker - hope you don't mind me posting it up here for you. It's quite boring really! Straight scales, up and down. I recorded it at the time as a favour for Dood who wanted to hear what the EMG pups sounded like. Consequently IIRC the eq was set flat, and I started on on the neck pup, both pups, then bridge only. cheers G
thanks again Gwil! and thanks for the kind words from Kiwi and Dood.

ok, big edit, I need to downsize and this isn't getting played so for sale at £699.99 with a coffin case gig bag and a john petrucci 6 string tuition video. Please no offers - unless they are for more I've had it for 2 years, and it has mostly been living in a case. Gwil had it before me, and the guy before him bought it from John Shuker (I think that's the history, I'm sure Gwil will correct me, or maybe Dood as he knows all things Shuker!). The action is incredible and the neck is amazing, the Shuker heritage can be felt. There are a couple of dinks on the body, nothing major, and I will have it with me at the Bass Bash. Here's some pics.

I'm not seeing how this compromise and negotiation works You have your gear you want to keep it, but the partner doesn't. So you compromise and negotiate, and...? If it results in gear going, then where's the compromise and negotiation? Reminds me of a bloke I knew, scruffy long haired type, played in a band. He met a girl, they started seeing each other, and then moved in together. First thing to go was the long hair, in favour of a short back and no chance, coz girlfriend didn't like long hair. Next was he started to smarten up a bit, not necessarily a bad thing, but done because girlfriend didn't like the clothes he used to wear. Finally he quit the band, and sold his gear, because girlfriend didn't want him in a band. A few months later she dumped him because... "you're not the same person I fell for" !!!!! and no, it wasn't me

I'll bring my custom Tech Soundsystems 600w 2x10 combo, and my custom Shuker 6 string. I'd bring my custom 6u rack effects, but I haven't got one. I'll probably be turning up for the afternoon session.

And for all your days if you want to play your fancy licks you shall have to sneak them in like a thief in the night.
Hi, if you can be swayed away from a Boss unit,my Zoom MRS802 (20GB HD and CD Writer) just went up on ebay this evening http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Zoom-MRS802-8-track-...1QQcmdZViewItem cheers DJ
Nice price, but I'm waiting to hear back from someone about a Boss. Can you program your own drum patterns without an external sequencer?
I make as many cock ups as everyone else does; they used to really bug me but these days I just laugh them off. Life's too short.
+1 as someone said earlier it's how you recover from the c0ck-up that matters. In the middle of one song I use to do, I had a slap solo, just me and the bass drum. Once, and I don't know why, I played just the first half of the slap riff, leaving 2 empty beats with just the bass drum keeping the beat. 2 beats of 4/4. At any tempo not a lot of time, but enough for me to think 1 - bu993r! what just happened? 2 - sh1t! I've just fek'd up! 3 - Bu993r! what am I gonna do about it? 4 - sh1t! here goes! There's an old saying from musicians "if you make a mistake, do it again, then people will think you meant to do it". Well that's what I did and it worked
I've been thinking along the same lines so, if you don't mind, I'll lurk here The only disadvantage with the BR600 is that it records to CompactFlash (not a hard drive) and it can't take the latest very high capacity CF cards. That limits the record time/quality a little. But you get what you pay for. I've also been looking at the Tascam DP01FX and the Fostex MR8-HD.
Another disadvantage is the BR600 doesn't have midi ports. But for the money, I could live without them.
