There is some discussion about Oxford being a possible area for the next 'national' meet - does that sit well with most people?
the roads into Oxford can be a bit of a sod. I'm a bit set in my ways and don't like change. Have we been barred from the ususal place?
  6.
So far I've been offered 3 6 strings today I'm started to get tempted
EMG DC's, nicely balanced, lovely action, awesome neck, quite light for a 6, and it's a Shuker!
  7.
If you added "Status Stealth 6 string" to your wanted list I might be able to help ... but failing that I can't help
me neither unless a custom made Shuker 6 string floats your boat?
  8. Haven't got a Scooby. Looks nice though.

  11. not sure, it still has all its power. Its a Duracell plus, if that makes a difference?
  12. I have my wireless in a laptop case, and have spare 9v batteries in one of the pockets. I pulled the case out yesterday for the first time in a few months, and one of the spare batteries was really hot. I have a battery tester and it still has all its power, it's normal temperature now and there are no leaks, but I'm assuming this is not good? If anyone knows what's going on, please tell me! cheers McD
  13. Forgot to mention, this will come with a John Patitucci 6 string bass guitar tuition video. So if you are new to 6ers, this'll help get you started.
  14. All of them, I'd love to have kept everything including the amps I've had over the years.
  15.
I heard that Darryl Jones was being paid $20,000 a week by The Rolling Stones when touring and a smaller retainer when not. This sounds realistic for a huge act and the fact that Darryl is now an established member of the tours.
Back in the late 80's one of the muso's in the James Last Orchestra was asked why he stayed with them. He said the Orchestra work for 6 months of the year, but he still gets paid for the other 6. (the joke at the time was 'what's the difference between a cow, and the James Last Orchestra? the cow has the horns at the front and the tit at the back') Regardless of your opinion of the musical worth of the Spice Girls, it's a quality gig for a sessionist, and will undoubtedly lead to other work.
  16. I remember hearing you should mix down on the crappest speakers possible. That way if you make it sound decent it will sound phenomenal on decent speakers. It doesn't work the other way round.

a perfectly pleasant way to while away a Saturday afternoon. A couple of notables for me; Kiwi's Celinder kicks out an obscene amount of bass and I'm not normally into fretless but Lukes GW Ibanez was a bit special. Nice one OBBM, looking forward to the next!
  18.
The wife isn't a fan of any of them, but she collects kids and I've given her 4 so far so it's a trade-off!
LMAO! the new man, alive and well
  19.
hey Mac here's a sound sample of your Shuker - hope you don't mind me posting it up here for you. It's quite boring really! Straight scales, up and down. I recorded it at the time as a favour for Dood who wanted to hear what the EMG pups sounded like. Consequently IIRC the eq was set flat, and I started on on the neck pup, both pups, then bridge only. cheers G
thanks again Gwil! and thanks for the kind words from Kiwi and Dood.
