I use a quick wipe of Fast Fret before and after playing, seems to lift a little sweat and grime, Rotosound never last that long for me anyway.
I found some fast fret in the case of a bass I swapped, so I've been using it, but not sure if it's making a difference
2. i used to have one of those Trace combo's. 1x15 and 500w. Did the job, never let me down, lovely.
3. Good idea in principle, but I would imagine the logistics of the thing would be a nightmare. Having said that, I'd persuade my lot to play
4. Hey Gaf how does the MB stack compare to your old Trace stack?
5. John has done some work on a couple of basses of mine over the last year. I'm currently planning my own dream bass with him, and have been trying to give him money for it for about 3 months LOL! I'll be doing my own thread when the build starts, but can't wait to see your pix.
6.
lol lol!!! Please forgive me! *whispers* Jaco would have played a six string.. probably fretless.
well I think Jaco played better when he had long hair, but then again all bass players play better when they have long hair (doesn't have to be theirs though)...
7.
where would the next bass bash be? never been before.
regional ones are always being planned, but the BassWorld Bash (which I suppose will have to be renamed the BassChat Bash) is held twice a year in March and September, in Northampton. With the demise of BW I'm not sure if the pics/links have made it across. Dood can you help?
8. I hope you will be at the next Bass Bash with it!
9.
Ahh... here it is...
Want one!
10. One of my bands, Bordel, use baritone tuning for the guitars The other, Highest Order Of Angels, is standard tuning. I use a 5 er and have a 4 tuned BEAD.
11. Does anyone have experience of these? Pro quality amp modelling and effects in a pedal with a DI that is 'future proofed' via software downloads seems too good to be true. Is it? ta.
12. Don't the FAQ's usually end up as stickies?
13. you could try the Hat Factory http://www.luton.gov.uk/hatfactory not sure what their rates are, but it's local authority run so shouldn't be too expensive. Not sure about anywhere free though. rmbasses is a bass luthier from Luton, if he's come across he may have some input.
14.
PS Vic says hi, and thanks for the double thumbing ideas - he's getting quite good at it now... Sx
19.
Hi there just recentley I bought a Behringer rack mountable tuner, from Thomann's for £40 if I remember rightly. Well it does everything it's supposed to. It even has lights under neath which show your rig up on the darkest of stages. For the money you can't go wrong.
How does it cope with a low B? Can you post a follow up after it's been thrown in the back of cars and vans, after a couple of months of gigging? cheers! McD
20.
i play with BADG and use a 50 - 110 set of flats i never found that when playing a mates five string that i ever used the E string so thought id save the cash and get 4 string that could be tuned BADG i like it its comfy sounding but i really need new pups to appreciate that low sound
I've just converted my passive 4 string MM Sub to B-E-A-D. It's settled down quite well and meant I didn't have to fork out for another 5er.
