  1. TecAmp Puma 500 (or 900). Set the EQ to the centre and use the 'taste' control to dial in the vintage tone
  2. Let us know where you decide to go, as there will probably be a friendly Basschatter close by, who would be happy to tag along and offer and independent opinion
  3. they stuck needles in peoples faces to see if it helped their tinnitus. It did.
  4. completely understand why people would not like it, but from me it's a phwoar!
  5. There's a Lotus which is a rebadged Vauxhall.
  6. The Digitech BP355 does all that (plus more). They can often be had for under £100 now.
  7. and yes I know that's not strictly true (letter-name effect, etc) but I think Peavey and TE are built in the same factory?
  8. For some reason this is not on the Trace Elliot website, the only amp featured is the Elf. But it is on the Peavey website.
  9. you used to play with Noel Gallagher?
  10. These are only £166 from Thomann so probably not much cop. I've never played one but still really want one! 😆
  11. Yellow USA Fender P Zebra stripes Hamer Blitz White Charvel M2 Black Guild B301 All bought on looks before I played them.
  12. Looking at the 2022 Rebellion line up, there may not be any traditional punkyness, and people from a band big in the 80's and early 90's may be living in that London now, so not necessarily a London band. Bearing in mind the size of venues, I'm gonna plump for Billy Duffy (coz Ian Astbury lives in LA).
  13. "Wuntoofreefaw!" And a personal favourite that I have inappropriately used at the start of a pop song: "One, two, three, Oi!"
  14. Floyd Pepper, Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
  15. Mark Mendoza, Twisted Sister. Phenomenal player, awesome stage presence, thoroughly original and visual technique. Twisted Sister retired in 2016 after spending the previous 10 years or so headlining the biggest rock/metal festivals around the world, yet most of bass chat probably haven't heard of him.
  16. So in terms of the practicalities... assuming the drummer is playing to a click, they'll be wearing headphones/earpieces to hear it (unless the click is put through a monitor?) so how will they hear the rest of the band?
  17. Competition from the Peavey Vypyr VIP 3, which can be had for under £300. Amp modelling for bass and guitar, with a bunch of FX, and loud enough to gig with (I've gigged mine on bass in large pubs with no worries).
  18. Can I give you a 'wow!' ? That fretboard is stunning 😎
