Does politics belong in music?
Does a social conscience belong in music?
Does love belong in music?
etc...
But to answer with some favourites:
Hurry up Harry - Sham 69
My cousin Kevin - The Undertones
Be Chrool to Your Scuel - Twisted Sister and Alice Cooper
Many years ago, an originals band I was in changed vocalists. My playing was initially all over the place with the new singer, as I didn't realise how much I'd been relying on vocal cues.
Lesson learned and rectified for future bands.
back in the day, I was gigging in my metal band and wearing suitably clumpy boots. Too clumpy as it happened, as the toe cap was too broad for my multi fx. The first time I tried to change a patch I pressed 2 switches which put me on mute for the tuner 😖
On one of Twisted Sister's albums, in the blurb where the band list their equipment it said 'Dee Snider uses Vidal Sassoon protein hair remoisturiser, are you listening Vidal?'.
On the following album it said 'Dee Snider no longer uses Vidal Sassoon protein hair remoisturiser, looks like you blew it Vidal!'.
La bamba, didn't top the hit parade because the record buying public suddenly spoke fluent Spanish.
Lyrics don't matter, this is what The Chicken Song proved.
Greatest lyric ever "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah".
YMMV.
