  1. bonus points if it has a 'Keep music live!' sticker 😆
  2. Black Gaffa tape. Multitude of uses, gigbags should never be without.
  3. On the one hand I'm sorry for y'alls tales of woe, but on the other I'm really enjoying this thread!
  4. MacDaddy

    possible

    Claire from work.
  5. On one of Twisted Sister's albums, in the blurb where the band list their equipment it said 'Dee Snider uses Vidal Sassoon protein hair remoisturiser, are you listening Vidal?'. On the following album it said 'Dee Snider no longer uses Vidal Sassoon protein hair remoisturiser, looks like you blew it Vidal!'.
  6. I like to see the pretty pictures ☺️
  7. Trace Elliot, Eden, Aguilar, TC Electronic, Avalon, Radial. Plus an optical compressor, can't remember the manufacturer, and Phil Jones Bass.
  8. Not that he could ever lose it, but Bootsy has still got it! 🤩🤩🤩 Victor Wooten even makes an appearance 😎
  9. La bamba, didn't top the hit parade because the record buying public suddenly spoke fluent Spanish. Lyrics don't matter, this is what The Chicken Song proved. Greatest lyric ever "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah". YMMV.
  10. Spinal Tap don't count! 😆 I don't know the Def Leppard biopic. Is it the band acting in it?
  11. Documentaries though, not films in which the band are acting.
  12. The Foo Fighters just released film, has been getting a bit of a slating by the critics. This shouldn't be surprising as it rarely bodes well when a band decide to make a film. We're not talking about documentaries, or films they just appear in, but films in which the band star in and 'act'. IMO Slade's In Flame was decent, and Hard Days Night had it's moments, but are your thoughts, good or bad about bands making films?
  13. @neepheid earplugs, yes! But they are a given for me, as I have the little case attached to my keys so I always have them.
  14. As others have said - depends on the gig. Especially as to taking a rig or combo. But the minimum is still bass, and Snapdragon folding bass as a backup. Fully charged wireless, plus a lead. FX pedals or multi FX.
  15. i'm glad you did, because I was seriously considering it even though I can't really justify it at the moment! 😆
  16. if something can go wrong it will?
  17. Prior to my fitting, I bought some ear wax softener from the chemist. Ingredients 100% olive oil! 😠
  18. i've heard a Sex Pistol play it
  19. Not on a whim, but conductors do change the score, and soloists do change the lead.
  20. ZZ Top, could just stand behind microphone stands all gig, yet still exuded cool and charisma.
  21. Many years ago I had PF350. It sounded brutal through a 4x10 in the practice room. Proper Ampeg tone too. It just wasn't loud enough for a classic rock band gig. Shouldn't have that problem with the 800
  22. Classical music performed from a pre-composed score is often different when recorded. Often due to time and space limitations, but also when repeated sections are omitted, or variations of a repeated section ar not used etc. But also different conductors will play each piece differently. If you are interested, Google Bernstein talking about how Beethoven's Third can sound with different conductors
  23. i remember reading a John Lennon interview, in which he said many of The Beatles transcriptions were wrong because they had been done by "proper musicians". Things like playing a minor 3rd over a major chord (to be a bit bluesy) were seen as errors and 'corrected'.
