  1. I once ruined a great band because of something similar. So the next time the guitarist brought a song I said 'how does the the bass line go?'. From then on all the bass lines were just guitar lines played on the bass. The songs suffered as a result.
  2. For me, it's vital that my hands are warm. And clean, but that's to do with making my strings last longer @Happy Jack did a video a few years ago in which he demonstrated some hand exercises that are good for warming up.
  3. can't say that's ever been an issue for me, though it is a common complaint.
  4. A CNC machine in China, a CNC machine in the USA. With the same materials and parts what is the difference in quality? But as with @Boodang and their Sei's, my Shuker's have been built to my custom designs and body measurements, and will last a lifetime
  5. I have a Japanese Squier Silver Series Telecaster guitar. IIRC Squier Japan, became Fender Japan? Anyhow, once I had the neck reshaped it became the perfect guitar. For me I've played more expensive Fender Telecasters, but the feel and sound are not any better. To me
  6. I do not have tone controls on my custom basses. The sweet spot on my Snapdragon folding bass seems to be rolling it back a tad. The tad being decided by what amp it's going through. My Rob Allen Mouse is a different animal. The 'tone' control seems to vary between sounding like a bass, or a double bass.
  7. I plug directly into my Peavey Vypyr VIP 3, but then again it is a modelling amp with onboard FX.
  8. just found this thread. Awesome work! 😎
  9. One of my favourite bassists was endorsed by G&L so I played a few out interest. Never played a bad one, Tributes included.
  10. When I was playing in a covers band and a metal band, I used the same basses, just different FX. The basses stayed the same but amp or DI would change depending on the size of the gig.
  11. The least he could do is have an out of office message or an update on the website?
  12. Probably means no more cheeky spliffs before the gig 😉
  13. But have you ever forgotten to take it to a gig?
  14. This is where my Snapdragon folding bass comes into its own. It folds small enough to fit in my gig bag, and I wouldn't mind to lend it. Anyone wanting to use my Shuker's will be sadly disappointed.
  15. I came to bass from classical guitar, so started off with a pick - because of long nails on my picking hand. Since then it's been fingers all the way. But since getting a few bass synth pedals, they tend to be less glitchy with a pick. Maybe it's my technique? Pick = Big Stubby.
  16. Back in the day everyone fancied 'the blonde one'. But as you get older, a bit of life experience and maturity, looking back you realise that actually the attractive one, was the one with the beard.
  17. Does this mean Barefaced Machinist pedals are going to jump in value?
  18. Yeah Dave Parsons was a cutie wasn't he? He went on to mega success in the USA with Bush, after Transition Vamp.
