  1. They don't seem to hold their value second hand, which is great for the buyer because they are great basses. I had a BB 5 string, can't remember the exact model, I liked the feel and could get such a wide variety of tones from it. This is the only pic I can find of me playing it.
  2. @Dennis Finch wot he said ^^^ 😉
  3. They ended up with a drummer.
  4. I have a guitar which has an Epiphone Custom Shop stamp on it. But it's still made in Korea. Great guitar though.

Update. I've purchased an EHX Mono Bass Synth pedal (in fact the one mentioned by Hen barn above). Having had a fiddle at bedroom levels, there are a couple of sounds I really like. It has presets, which is incredibly useful, and although glitchy, not as glitchy as some pedals. Possibly my technique doesn't help, but the longer I played, the less glitchy it got.
  6. The EHX Mono Bass Synth pedal, also has presets.
  7. Does this also mean it also doesn't do 80's keyboard bass sounds?
  8. I was working all the way through lockdown, so the whole furloughed boozing in the back garden thing didn't apply to me. The only time I drink is when I'm gigging (and obviously not driving), or seeing bands, so as that wasn't happening I wasn't drinking and my alcohol tolerance has now severely diminished.
  9. Fate Gear, one of the better Japanese Steampunk bands IMO.
  10. IMO the only time this has worked, is when Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé's Barcelona album was rerecorded - after Freddie had died - with an orchestra.
  11. I've seen a bass, where the owner had moved the bridge further down, to make the longer strings fit better 😖
  12. Are you sure about your eye? Maybe you should drive to Barnard Castle to check?
  13. mine too, sort of. It was the college bass that I learned on and appropriated for my first year.
  14. i was thinking that...
  15. The infamous brown sound?
  16. Trouser flapping goodness 😎
  17. Agreed. Getting the 'attack' associated with playing with a pick can easily be got from fingers.
  18. Shirley September 18, 1978?
  19. Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini by Bombalurina went to number 1 in 1990. Achy Breaky Heart wasn't released until 1992 so I guess something had to fill the void...
  20. I used a pick when I first started to play bass, as I was still playing classical guitar and had long nails on my picking hand. I finally settled on Jim Dunlop's Big Stubby's as my pick of choice.
  21. Carefully tune your instrument before playing. That way you can play out of tune with a clear conscience 😜
