In my continuing quest for an 80's keyboard bass sound - as opposed to an 80's synth bass sound - I've just pulled the plug on the eBay for a Boss SYB-5.
When I'm able to go elsewhere to make a noise at louder than bedroom levels (post lockdown) I'll be comparing and contrasting with my Future Impact, and Digitech Bass Synth Wah.
I like most of the setting in the vid below, but I'm particularly impressed with the settings for Take on Me 2:20 in. Listening with headphones makes a big difference
I would have watched it, but Stewart Lee with his sanctimonious Oxbridge smugness, always comes across as a bit of an derrière.
I am aware that may be his 'act' or 'comedy persona', but I'm not willing to watch a documentary he presents.
I came to bass from classical guitar too, and use the same technique for bass playing. I cut my nails though.
Steve Harris plays using his nails, and uses flats. Although he does have a distinctive clangy tone.
Do we?
Normality is austerity and growing inequality and the lack of government action on climate change. Normality is Billionaire wealth increasing while homeless people die on the streets.
Normality is never being able to afford to buy a house, being saddled with a lifetime of student debt, and zero hours contracts.
Normality is the problem.
Females breasts are hoiked and on display. Males say those breast are hoiked and on display. Therefore those males hate women?
I can assure you that if someone posted a video of an all male band displaying their lunchboxes in tight cycling shorts, there would be comments, and most likely from the people who have commented on this thread.
reminds me an an exchange I overheard in the pub (remember those?) a few years ago.
Woman (loudly trying to embarrass man) 'Oi, eyes are up here!'
Man (supremely unembarrassed and just as loudly) 'yes, but your breasts are hoiked up and on display there!'
I almost spat out my beer...
True, but as has been mentioned in other threads - some started by me - there has not been any 'new' music for about 30 years, certainly in terms of music style/youth culture. Unless there are Chav bands, or Hipster bands?
