When see the videos of worship music in the USA, bands playing with Gospel choirs with vocalists that can belt it out like Aretha, and I think back to my church which occasionally had an acoustic guitar jangling along to 'Make me a channel of your Peace'...
I never hated them, but as I was very much into my heavy metal at the time, I was never bothered about U2.
Now, I can appreciate what an amazingly talented guitarist The Edge is.
In all seriousness, I don't have a stage name as such, but it's not my real name on the Facebook and other social media, what with identity theft and all.
More info needed.
Is the vocalist a great frontwoman? Big difference between singing in a band, and fronting a band.
If the bands gigs are playing crowd pleasers and sing alongs to beered up pub punters, then lack of vocal ability isn't an issue.
Regarding gear that used to belong to someone 'famous', I've always thought if it's no longer good enough for them, it's not good enough for me.
Obviously this would not apply if they were dead.
didn't they do something similar about 20 years ago, when they got a U2 tribute band to play on the Late Late Show, while Bono et al were sat on the back row?
