  1. I already have more music than I could ever listened to.
  2. Members of the James Last Orchestra were extremely talented, but I don't want to hear them play any Led Zeppelin 😉
  3. If it's not good enough for Alan, it's not good enough for me.
  4. Absolute pitch is just another name for Perfect pitch.
  5. In western society we tend to have a sense of relative pitch. This can be tested with non-musicians by asking them to sing their favourite song. Without any musical reference even non-musicians tend to be in the right key. Relative pitch can be developed, be it consciously or unconsciously, to such extent that for some musicians it is almost like having perfect pitch.
  6. How many of the people stood around are actually needed there?
  7. F# is green, and tastes of tin. Google synesthesia for more information 😊
  8. Darwin claimed that the power of producing and appreciating music existed among the human race long before the power of speech was arrived at.
  9. On the whole, people who are late, tend to be happier than the people who are waiting for them.
  10. I'm out. Bought a Digitech Bass Synth Wah. In my defense it's a bit of an investment as they are quite sought after, as they are no longer made.

    My pedals

The Eden chorus does the job, but it's a bit uninspiring. It comes with a PSU which is a nice touch. Agree about the Future Impact 😆 The Bass Synth Wah, doesn't quite do what I want, but it's worth keeping hold of as they are no longer being made, and are highly sought after.

    My pedals

For no readily apparent reason, here are my pedals. Stomp box type only. Top row: Behringer GDI21; Hard Wire HT-6 Polyphonic tuner; Future Impact. Middle row: Danelectro Wasabi Rock-a-bye Echo & Overdrive; Behringer BDI21. Bottom row: Digitech Bass Synth Wah; Flattley Bass Ivy distortion; Eden I-90 bass chorus.
  13. Depends. Some presets are just to showcase the equipment and don't tend to have much practical use. But some sound great straight out of the tin, as it were.
  14. welcome to Basschat, your bass knowledge may grow, and the contents of your wallet may shrink!
  15. The video is ok, but it needed more screen time for the bassist 😉 😎
  16. I'm currently gassing for a Peavey Headliner 1000.
  17. Behringer BDI21. Cheap and does the job as well as other more expensive pedals.
  18. Is this like that dress thing, and the bass is really yellow or something?
  19. Had you learned 'London's Burning' like the rest of us, things could have turned out different...
  20. I couldn't use my Xvives at one pub because they interfered with the contactless payment machine. Although TBF they didn't want any wireless used as it was a regular problem.
  21. My Xvives survived 2 years gigging in 2 bands, plus home use, before the casing came apart on the transmitter. In use, the only issue was the interference caused by the guitarists wireless. Swapping channels, for both of us, did not always sort it. His more expensive system never had the interference. These are what I bought when my Xvive transmitter died. Great (recharge) battery life, but the loss of volume compared to a lead is very noticeable - for me with both bass and guitar.
