  1. The thinnest necks I can remember playing, were on Vox Teardrop basses.
  2. The actual lessons, no. But being able to use the music room, having access to the 4-track recorder, and jamming with the older kids who taught me Smoke on the Water, Paranoid, etc, then absolutely.
  3. I've been in bands as support act to strippers twice. Although once was for The Dream Boys 😖
  4. If you were to sell it all you could probably afford a mansion in Mayfair! 😆
  5. My custom Shuker's are the result of all the best bits - for me - of all the basses I've owned (plus some of Jon's ideas and his amazing craftsmanship!). So couldn't really start again with basses. Amps however, small light and loud, and as soon as possible!
  6. Greene King pubs are already having live music indoors.
  7. Saw him play in the 90's when Stiff Little Fingers headlined a punk festival in Bath. Can't remember what bass he was playing, but he was quite awesome.
  8. Thanks for the replies, sorted now
  9. My Tech Amp Puma 500 sounds great, has never let me down, and does what I need it to. But I'm fancying a change for no readily apparent reason. Has anyone else changed things, just 'because'?
  10. There is a re-mixed version somewhere on the interweb, with the bass. Others may be able to be more specific?
  11. this is a recorded live stream of my old band - listen with headphones! https://www.facebook.com/123865211574656/videos/608864829741714
  12. Me too, still tempted though! Less than 3p per watt GLWTS
  13. I never need an excuse to post my custom Shuker's! 😎 Absolutely no regrets at all. The only 'issue' or 'problem' is that for me, all other basses don't feel or play as well.
  14. (The following is mostly copied from elsewhere) Obviously not everything, but when you play music loud, it is easier to pick out all the details, and hearing all the different parts of a song usually means that the music sounds better. Plus loud music relieves stress, when you listen to (loud) music, endorphins are released. Also loud music works like a stimulant. You can literally get pumped up by loud music, as music can lead to an increased body temperature and heart rate. It can do, there is a direct connection between your inner ear and the pleasure centres in the brain.
  15. "you won't get paid but it will be good exposure"
  16. The worst depiction of musicians in films, has to be KISS in Phantom of the Park, and they were playing themselves! 🤣
  17. At a Bass Show, I asked Peter Hook, how he felt about being portrayed in films. He said he was surprised how wrong Ralph Little got it, bearing in mind he knew his ex-wife 😆
