and as @alexclaber demonstrated at a Bassbash, how near the cab(s) is to the wall can make a difference too.
Plus, as we hear when someone posts an isolated bass track, what sounds great in the mix, often sounds pants soloed.
It's not easy is it? 😆
late to the party on this...
It was Mike who got me on Bassworld, as it was then, many years ago 😮
I've always liked the contouring on the Zoot bodies, ever so comfortable. 😊
there are people on here who have been mightily surprised to receive a custom fees payable request, instead of their purchase from the States 🤣
The EU uncertainty may work in our favour and some things might get through ok. If not maybe we could organise a Basschat equivalent of a booze cruise, but for musical instruments? 😃
But as @ped said, it's a waiting game.
not sure if we've had anything on sale from the USA, but the mods would not have been expected to warn about customs charges for that. Same goes for any other country?
The Rolling Stones. There's a 'looseness' about them which shouldn't work, but does.
Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band. There's a tightness about them which works, but sounds like it doesn't.
Got to disagree and agree with @peteb. Lots of bands do bad AC/DC covers because they miss the subtleties. Simple things like inversions, chord voicings, and octaves. Similar thing with Status Quo covers too.
i did a lock-down gig first time around. Whereas it was nice to be able to play, the enforced lack of audience participation - no dancing or singing - was a bit dispiriting.
That's what I did with my Shuker's. They have the body slightly extended at the bottom and have contoured edges, to fit where my arm rests when I'm playing.
