  1. Saw him play in the 90's when Stiff Little Fingers headlined a punk festival in Bath. Can't remember what bass he was playing, but he was quite awesome.
  2. Oi! 😠 😝
  3. Thanks for the replies, sorted now
  4. My Tech Amp Puma 500 sounds great, has never let me down, and does what I need it to. But I'm fancying a change for no readily apparent reason. Has anyone else changed things, just 'because'?
  5. There is a re-mixed version somewhere on the interweb, with the bass. Others may be able to be more specific?
  6. this is a recorded live stream of my old band - listen with headphones! https://www.facebook.com/123865211574656/videos/608864829741714
  7. Me too, still tempted though! Less than 3p per watt GLWTS
  8. I never need an excuse to post my custom Shuker's! 😎 Absolutely no regrets at all. The only 'issue' or 'problem' is that for me, all other basses don't feel or play as well.
  9. (The following is mostly copied from elsewhere) Obviously not everything, but when you play music loud, it is easier to pick out all the details, and hearing all the different parts of a song usually means that the music sounds better. Plus loud music relieves stress, when you listen to (loud) music, endorphins are released. Also loud music works like a stimulant. You can literally get pumped up by loud music, as music can lead to an increased body temperature and heart rate. It can do, there is a direct connection between your inner ear and the pleasure centres in the brain.
  10. "you won't get paid but it will be good exposure"
  11. The worst depiction of musicians in films, has to be KISS in Phantom of the Park, and they were playing themselves! 🤣
  12. So he doesn't miss last orders! 😆
  13. At a Bass Show, I asked Peter Hook, how he felt about being portrayed in films. He said he was surprised how wrong Ralph Little got it, bearing in mind he knew his ex-wife 😆
  14. There is no new music. There are no new harmonies, tonalities, or rhythmic devices. That aside, in terms of 'popular music', there was music released in 1969 that would not be mistaken for music released in 1959; there was music released in 1979 that would not be mistaken for music released in 1969; and there was music released in 1989 that would not be mistaken for music released in 1979. IMO we can not say the same for 2010/2000 and 2020/2010. Has there been anything new in popular music in over 20 years?
  15. More Jazz Club, including an interjection of Indie Club 😳 😆
  16. But can they do it upside down on a rollercoaster?
  17. What did the drummer get on his IQ test? Saliva.
  18. That sounds great! 😎 Is the buyer going to use it in some sort of ensemble?
  19. What are you going to play for us... - trumpet! What tune? - tune? This is jazz!
  20. The singer looks like Cyril Smith 😳
  21. That's the benefit of hindsight, at the time it was neither clichéd, nor 80's rock.
