  1. That's the benefit of hindsight, at the time it was neither clichéd, nor 80's rock.
  2. one either side of the drum kit!
  3. Got: Tele LP Flying V Strat type - HB's Semi acoustic. Preference? Live, depends on the gig. Studio/recording, the Tele.
  4. Nothing new. Back in the 80's Sigue Sigue Sputnik sold the space between the songs on their album.
  5. Samson Resolv 65a active studio monitors, and Zoom TAC 2R Thunderbolt Audio Converter.
  6. Hi all! I need a bit of advice on audio connections. The outs on my audio converter are 1/4" jack. The ins on my (powered) studio monitors are 1/4 jack & RCA. Does it matter which I use? So either, jack to jack lead (would a short guitar lead do?), or jack to RCA? Cheers!
  7. Because there are only 2 USB ports. I'm using one for the mouse and the other for the midi keyboard.
  8. i could have justified the Macbook by saying I need a back-up laptop as I'm working from home. But I've got no excuse for the Zoom! 😆
  9. I'm guessing 'studio' gear is included? If so I'm well out. I bought an old Macbook Pro and a Zoom interface just so I can use Garageband.
  10. Have you tried turning it off, then turning it on again? 😜
  11. trouser flapping goodness 😎
  12. Let the market decide. Put both up for sale, and keep the one that doesn't sell first.
  13. Zoom TAC 2R. Took a while to find at a decent price. Anything with a Thunderbolt 2 connection seems to go for silly money. Fortunately I was the first and only bidder. Haven't got time to fire it up today, so tomorrow will be downloading drivers, and worrying about compatibility issues! 😝
  14. 7th August cancelled.
  15. I guess I'll find out next week!
  16. Just had a couple of gigs confirmed, 7 & 28 August. Pub gig with limited numbers.
  17. Already have. We're not doing it for everyone, but there are certain venues we play regularly where we are looked after and get well paid. Some of the previous analogies don't add up. Do tradesmen bring a crowd that buy drink and food and keep the venue going?
  18. As much as I love the Crue, there are quite a few to choose from. But in terms of the thread title, the Crue being 'inspired' by Big Trouble in Little China, and as for the 'fight' scene 🤣
  19. That's all well and good, but is it really anything roll of gaffa tape couldn't sort? 😉
  20. My band had a club gig come in earlier this month for September. Not sure if the rules for private member's clubs are different, but when we play it's indoor, and an all tickets do to manage numbers.
  21. Google 'Basso continuo', it'll blow your mind
  22. Does Beethoven's boogie woogie sound contrived? (Piano Sonata No. 32, 2nd movement, or just Google 'Beethoven boogie woogie')
  23. Disagree entirely, because I have! A few years ago, I'd brought a song to the metal band I was playing in. We were going through it, and they said what happens next. Jokingly I said 'bass solo'. No-one said 'No!', so I thought stinky poo, I've got to do a bass solo! Around 90% of it was made up on the spot based on theory. I knew the chord sequence so bend up to root note - lazy rock player trick Come down the natural minor tap some triads, adding some diatonic passing notes end on the root note. Had I been playing just by ear, I would have had to take a minute to work some things out, as opposed to just been able to do it on the spot.
  24. There is an unintentionally hilarious video of me with The Junkyard Dogs, spectacularly failing to play the ever so simple lead guitar line on Come Together... 😖
