I recently picked one of these up for just over a 1/3rd of the RRP having always been a bit of a SZ fan from the 90’s. Having looked at comments and reviews from the other Bass forum, I was a bit concerned with the judgement that it was a posh Bassballs with a high price tag. I am admittedly a bit of a Bassballs fan but I’d be lying if I didn’t mention it can be a bit of a bull in China Shop IMO. Anyway back to the Funk Face, what a superb usable pedal with lots of accessible funk and no loss of bottom end! Caution is required not to go mental with the settings, however a bit of restraint and things are really usable. I even did the Bass run from Number of the Beast with it on! 🤣🤘 😊

I bought Matt’s Ashdown Funk Face. I recommend him, good comms and a nice guy. 👍😊

I’ve tried the standard US Bass Big Muff and it certainly wasn’t for me. But to be be fair I’ve tried a lot of Bass Fuzzes that I didn’t like, either too raspy or a lack of low blend.

NBD: 2003 Music Man Bongo in Lava Pearl
rhysyjob replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Bass Guitars
I’ve owned two Bongo’s. I missed my first graphite one so much that no sooner than I saw a Rolls Burgundy one for sale in Mansons I literally jumped in the car drove to Exeter and bought it! Seriously great sound great playability and my Swiss Army Bass! 😊 -
Thanks for all your advice guys 😊👍

I’m in the market for an envelope filter but need one that keeps the Bass in the signal. At the moment the choices are MXR M82, Source Audio Spectrum or Aguilar Filter Twin? Can anyone give me some advice/experience/pointers?

Goodness that’s a tough question. I have run SWR through SWR, Eden through SWR, Eden through Eden, Ampeg through Eden (stinky poo), Aguilar through Aguilar, Tech 21 through Aguilar (stinky poo), Hartke through TC Electronic (lots of muscle not much personality) and now Mesa through Aguilar SL 112’s which I love… but recently bought an Ashdown ABM 600 and Ashdown ABM 2x10 and 115 cabs and it sounds immense.😃 So for me it’s a draw so far, personally I trust my ears not my eyes.

Westone bass guitars - what do people think of them?
rhysyjob replied to CathalOC's topic in Bass Guitars
I’ll second that. I always wanted one but wouldn’t pay over £200 for a clean one. -
I’ve had two sandbergs one with Delano’s and one with Black Label pickups. The Delano’s were a bit more adaptable, however the black labels were immense for rock and metal.

If you know your Motörhead lyrics and Lemmy’s play on words it’s not in bad taste imho. 😊👍

For sale official Fender Jazz Roasted Maple neck. Excellent condition and no fret wear. Fitted with nickel Hipshot HB1 Machine Heads and a Brass Nut. The only two blemishes I can find on the neck are small lacquer cracks around the E string tuner ferrule and a small hairline lacquer crack before the first fret which appeared when the brass nut was fitted by OV Guitars in Abergavenny (see pics). Apart from that it’s perfect. UK mainland postage only £10
