  1. Got GAS for my own bass 😆 so having a Friday night play 😁
  2. Yep, it's exactly 19mm string centre to string centre Cheers
  3. @funkle Nut width is 39mm. Not sure what you meant about the neck? Truss rod works fine and so the neck is set up slightly concave with decently low action and no buzzing frets. Currently strung with a newish set of DR fat beams 45-105. Cheers, Tom
  4. Happy Friday everyone! Hesitating a lot about this one but new bass incoming and I need to be ruthless 🫣 Lovely and unusual all original Ken Smith from 1997, super comfy to play, usual Ken Smith punchy tone and feel. Bolt on 3-piece maple neck with morado fingerboard, oiled body with walnut core and ash wings. Usual 3-band Ken Smith preamp and standard knobs. Great condition throughout with a little wear under the G-string and above the neck pickup, see pics. Weight is 3.8kg on my bathroom scales. Bought from a US talkbasser in 2020, I can share the original ad and YouTube walk around video of the bass plus customs receipts on request. Comes with a lovely old Ken Smith hard case - new pics added. Open to sensible offers but not looking to trade. Go on, you know you want to!
  5. We survived Monday bump!
  6. Great condition and proper meaty sound! All in good working order. 4.25 kg on bathroom scales. Usual Musicman spec with 19mm string spacing at bridge and narrow nut like a jazz, 37mm. No case for this I'm afraid but can ship well packed in a box at buyer's cost and risk, visits to try are welcome!
  7. Beautiful! What's the weight?
  8. Thanks for all the comments!
  9. Yum! How much does it weigh and can you add a few more pics? Is it red trans or orange?
  10. Hi folks Here's a really great through-neck fretless, I believe made in Japan. (see thread here) Very playable 2 octave neck, really great mwah and punch - the output from the pickups and 2-band active preamp is louder than any of my other basses, and it's fat and punchy! No idea what the woods are. Finish is matt/satin. Body is a sandwich of 3 woods, looks like some kind of mahogany in the middle with facings of slightly flamed/birdseye something. The neck is straight and the truss rod works fine. Currently strung with Ken Smith half-rounds. I bought this to have a tinker during lockdown and never got around to it, and it's time to thin the herd and give someone else the opportunity to have fun on it. Happy to ship in a well padded box at buyer's expense or can arrange meet up somewhere between Cambridge and London, other locations possible if I move around the country! Now the pictures!
  11. You guys are goooood! The space out pickup placement caught my eye...will definitely keep an eye out in case there's ever a chance to try one. Thank you! Tom
  12. Hello chaps and chapesses Stumbled on this great pic of Skunk Baxter doing his bit for Movember... Anyone know what bass he's playing?? Cheers Tom
  13. Gorgeous!!! I'd forgotten about the anti-slap device on these 😄
  14. Gorgeous beast in almost mint condition. This is one of the most ergonomic and comfortable basses I've ever played, everything in the right place for fast articulation. Obviously it growls and mwahs with the best of 'em! The finish is satin varnish throughout, basically unmarked as far as my eyes can see. The fingerboard is in great shape, owing to the previous owner using flat wounds and I've been using half-wounds for the five or so years of my ownership. I'm selling as my 5-string fretless is getting all the play time and this deserves to be in the hands of someone who will use it regularly. Price is negotiable but I'm not looking for trades as needing to thin the herd! Any questions or tryouts welcome. Cheers
  15. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255515609714 This looks like a bit of a bargain for someone...
  16. Still here... open to sensible offers and can meet up in London-Cambridge axis
  17. Thanks for all the helpful comments!
  18. The reference standard still available and currently retailing for £149. This one was mine from new, must be getting on for 20 years old but well cared for, little used and working perfectly. Can be mounted on the front of the bridge between the strings, or also fits in front of the f-hole for different sound balance. Any questions just holler! Thanks for looking.
  19. Hi folks Legend of an amp made in USA in 2005 in very clean condition and excellent working order. Tube preamp FET power amp with 300W into 8 ohms, 550W into 4 ohms, 750W into 2 ohms (minimum load). Balanced DI XLR out, Speakon and 6.5mm jack speaker outputs. Rack mountable but I don't have the original wings. Super quiet fan inaudible in most settings. Looking for £400 plus delivery/collection but will listen to reasonable offers. Cheers
