  1. Thanks! Still here... What a glorious day...must be nearly time for a beautiful sunset 😆
  2. Friday bump for this ash bodied maple necked beauty!
  3. Needless to say, fair offers listened to. And inspections welcome, anywhere along the London-Cambridge axis!
  4. Aww thanks! Lovely sounding too, the ash body and maple neck gives a super crisp sound, you can be Marcus Miller without trying to look like Marcus Miller 😆
  5. Exactly that. Thank you so much!!! 😘
  6. Hi folks, Had fun reading this...a week after buying my first Ric! A midnight blue 4003 from 2017. Lots of compliments on the look from non-musos and my teenage kids which is interesting! Like many people here I suspect, I had always found the looks a bit weird, but always drawn in by the Chris Squire sound. Having finally found one to have a go on, I was amazed at how playable it is, and versatile. The neck and slightly shorter scale make it very fast, and the tone is full of character, easy to get punchy tones but with a voice. I'm saying this being a regular player of Sadowsky, Modulus, Tobias etc and so I surprised myself falling for this!! And...it sounds bitchin' when slapped, really brings out the honk! The only downside so far for me is the bridge pickup cover, which it turns out is exactly where my fingers want to be. I've removed the cover obviously (and yes it is a horrid lump of plastic), but now have a gaping hole and sharp metal edges for my fingers to get used to. Thinking I might make up a cover out of sheet metal, but not sure if I'll be able to do that with nice shiny chrome to preserve the look. Any tips welcome from folks who have come up with a solution to this! Cheers Tom
  7. Hi folks Up for sale is my USA 2002 Fender Jazz, almost mint condition as mostly played at home and only gigged once or twice. Body and neck are basically flawless barring a smallish ding on the back of the upper wing (see pic). No buckle rash. Ash body with translucent Sunset Orange finish & nice attractive grain. 20 frets, weight is 4.7kg. All original, no changes to any of the electronics or hardware, except the black scratch plate which is an after market. I have the original white scratch plate if preferred. Also the original Fender documentation and tool kit is present. Currently sporting a set of DR fat beams. Prefer collection from Harpenden or Cambridge areas as I don't have a spare case to sell with it, may be able to arrange a meet somewhere not to far from those locations or in between! If in doubt give me a shout! Trials welcome, tea and bics provided. For sale only unless you have a midnight blue rick 4003 to trade !! Cheers Tom
  8. Lovely! Where are you?
  9. Thanks for the ideas guys! Enjoying isn't the word...class D just sounds so...small compared to this :-)
  10. Agree there's no reason you shouldn't do this. I would try to go for a head that has a jack plug for the speaker as you say (often they have a second output anyway for extension speaker). Needless to say, if you have to do any metalwork at all, drilling or whatever, try to protect the circuitry from metal filings and give it a thorough internal hoover afterwards otherwise you might get a nasty short circuit at an unexpected moment :-) Tom
  11. Hi folks, Just acquired an Eden WT550 head which I love (actually it's gobsmacking!!) but is vulnerable to transport, does anyone have any suggestions for a gig bag? The original Eden ones seem hard to come by and I'm not fussed about the make, but it needs to be sturdy cos this is a heavy old school amp! I'm loathe to put this in a rack because it kind of defeats the point of it being a relatively compact beastie. Dimensions are 35cm x 30cm x 10cm. Thanks y'all for looking! Tom
  12. I'm around this weekend if anyone wants to come and give this gem a try!
  13. Definitely not bubinga but quite possibly koa... closer inspection welcome and kettle has just boiled
  14. Snowy bump for this handmade gem...very rare on this side of the Atlantic and no import duty to pay!
  15. Sorry not looking for trades right now, have too many basses
  16. Weekend bump! Just a reminder folks you are welcome to come and have a play in Herts or sensible offers welcome.
  17. Thanks! Not only beautiful though :-)
  18. No love for this rare handbuilt legend? Super deep crisp punchy sound, beautiful curves, fast and ergonomic... Open to sensible offers and trials welcome.
  19. Friday night price drop to £2,200!
