1. Saturday-afternoon-listening-to-Selling-England-by-the-Pound bump!
2. Yes! I know what you mean, the headstock does have a Kramer-ish look to it. I'm based in Harpenden, Herts. I'll be in Salisbury next weekend if you want to meet halfway to give it a try.
3. Hi bassers, Sorry not looking for trades, I need the cash. PRICE NOW DROPPED TO £2100!! Serial number in the 1500s, hand built by Mike Tobias and his team. My guess on the woods: Shedua/wenge/alder body Flamed/Birds eye maple through neck with wenge stringers Pau Ferro fingerboard Pickups are the usual Bartolinis, electronics appear unmodified. Scale is 34", string spacing at the bridge 18mm, and it weighs 4.1kg (bathroom scales method). Condition almost mint, there are no visible dings or buckle rash, just a couple of small areas along the side of the fingerboard where the lacquer is a little cloudy, apparently quite common on these old Tobiases. I've included close up pics of the two areas. The neck is very straight and I had frets dressed and full set up a couple of months ago. The bass has a belter of a tone, puts a childlike grin on the face of whoever plays it :-) Thanks to the ultra slim neck it is super fast to play and well suited to small hands. I can ship it in an old Bass Centre hard case but buyer will need to arrange shipment/insurance. Any trials welcome, pm me if you're interested & I'll get the kettle on. Feel free to PM me with sensible cash offers!
4. Mmmmm! Where in France are you?
5. Mmmmm... Where are you bassed?
6. Jon put an ebony fretless board on a bass for me recently, outstanding craftsmanship and lovely guy to deal with. He had some tasty basses on show too... I'd certainly recommend exploring his creations!
7. Oh me, oh my.... PM'ed you!
8. Hi could you post up some pics? Thx!
9. This is now sold, please remove thanks!
10. Nice bass...where are you based?
11. I have one like this in white, my main bass since '96. The sound drops jaws live and in studios. It's a steal at this price!! Somebody's going to be very happy...
12. Hello Joe Thanks for your note, nice to hear from you. It's great that these unique vintage instruments have a personal history like this, I love it! Never tried a Pedulla, they look gorgeous but only ever seem to have lined fboards, right? Cheers Tom
13. Hi there I'm based in Harpenden Herts.
14. Hi folks Up for grabs is this lovely early 80s (I believe) creature which I've had for about the last five years and used for quite a few recordings - sample attached.

Sound is sweet, singing and punchy, currently strung with Ken Smith half-rounds for great combination of smooth mwah and singing harmonics.
It's a set neck design so the heel is very rounded and smooth for easy access all the way up the neck.
Unlined fingerboard, I believe ebony, with side dots, length is up to equivalent of 21 frets.
The neck is very straight allowing a low action with no buzz.
Pickup has been replaced before my time with an EMG, but still has the pretty wooden pickup cover. The original pickup will be supplied with the bass in case you wish to change back.
Condition is excellent with the exception of a few small chips to the headstock and a small indentation to the fingerboard which does not affect the playability or sound (it was there when I bought it and has never been a problem). See pics for a closer look.
Genuine potential buyers are welcome to come and give it a try before committing.
I love this bass and am only selling to fund a new fretless project, involving 5 strings and a 2-octave fingerboard!
15. C'mon guys! I had an almost identical one for a decade as my main bass, tight punchy lows and gorgeous singing midrange. Snap up a bargain handmade boutique British bass :-)
