  1. Thanks for the comments, it is a pleasure to play and has such a rich tone.
  2. It’s in Edinburgh and it came in at 3.4kg with the strap, I’d guess the strap would be about 0.1kg, so likely about 3.3kg.

  6. Cheers, there are more to come, I just didn’t want to list them all at once.
  7. Yes it’s up in Edinburgh. The craftsmanship is superb and the Bartolini pickup does a great job.
  8. This beautiful Marleaux Sopran bass in fantastic condition. Created with Marleaux hand-crafted care, tuned an octave up from standard, has a beautiful piano-like quality to each note. Can be used with an octave pedal to achieve standard bass tones (though works best with a high quality unit). Incredibly good fun, light and extremely easy to play, it's quite addictive really and so easy to carry around. The original gig bag (Warwick Rockbass with Marleaux branding) is included in the sale, as are the hex keys. Carefully sourced wood: http://www.regio-tone-wood.com/ This bass is in Edinburgh but could be shipped. Construction / Wood 3 piece maple neck - 4 string - separated with Wenge. 6 point bolt-on neck Matching headstock Maple fretboard with 24 frets, 57 cm (22.44") scale. 2 piece body with top (from wood of choice), and ergonomic shape Electronics Passive Single humbucker from Delano Hardware Black Schaller Strap locks Neck measurement Scale: 570 mm / 22.44" Nut: 40 mm / 1.57" 12. fret: 50 mm / 1.97" 24. fret: 55 mm / 2.17" Bridge: 54 mm (2.13") / 18 mm (0.71") each string
  9. Lots of changes going on this year and this little gem, has to go unfortunately. Awesome travel bass solution, easy for flights, trains or in the car. Open to reasonable offers Specs: Length: 20-5/8" (52.4 cm) Actual Scale: 16" (40.64 cm) Tuners: Hipshot Headless System String Spacing: 18 mm (0.708") for 5-string Pickup: Bartolini From the Wingbass site: The only differences between this instrument and a full sized bass are the tuning (the Wing is tuned one octave higher – the equivalent of playing the twelfth fret and above), and portability. The Wing Bass uses standard strings and gauges and standard string spacing so your technique building exercises can be retained when you return to your main bass. It's extremely light and portable so whether your just hanging around the house, travelling on business, camping, whatever, you can always have an instrument to keep your chops up with.
  10. I noticed the G string tuner has a bend in it. I never noticed it before but it works perfectly well.
  11. A bit more info on the bass. I have weighed it and it's just 3.7kg on my luggage scale. And I bought it new, earlier this year, from Bass Direct.
  12. I have to thin the herd a bit more, so sadly this beauty has to go. Reduced to £800 (No trades but offers will be considered) SANDBERG CALIFORNIA II TT4 This high quality German handmade bass. 13. @CameronJHi, yes I did get stung with custom costs - it's a percentage of the purchase price. Basically a courier admin fee and VAT
  14. In regard to the ACG thread, I compared my Border Reiver with the Wingbass and while I can see it's possible, Alan would have to rework the nut width and head but it looks plausible. My ACG Border Reiver: http://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0222-border-reiver-2/ - I love this bass, which has an amazing feel and big sound.
  15. I will definitely look at doing some mods, yours seems so versatile, but in the meanwhile I'll just play it every chance I get. The sound is good and it is the only 5 string I've got, so I need to practise a bit more on it. I played in through my Ashdown head with Markbass cab, both with and without octaver pedal and it just sounds awesome. I was also concerned about reaching the strings, due to the single cut design, but so far it's no problem.
  16. I got mine directly, and it seems to be the best option. The "in stock" section of the site isn't updated all that often but if you email, then Andy is usually quick to respond with what's in progress or available.
  17. Cheers, the quality of the craftsmanship and wood is excellent.
  18. @ped Here are the pictures, as promised.
  19. I have been convinced that the most convenient travel bass is a Wingbass. So here is my new addition, with a poplar body and maple fretboard.
  20. Don't be sorry, I will post pictures over the weekend.
  21. Ped you made me go the route of a wingbass too! They are great.
  22. I'm a short scale guy too, with 3 short scale basses, but I have an ACG 32" scale bass which really is a great compromise in scale. The tone is great, and is extremely playable.
