Thanks for the info, I just got a confirmation of the order through from the grooveshoppe
Blasphemy... i dont really like MTDs Seriously though, looks great, look forward to reading more about this and seeing some pictures.
2.
ah ha! ladies and gents the previous owner. how is university going sean? and how is that shuker you were planning on getting when i saw you? hope your mte got on alright with that SR5. Aharon
Hi, unis great cheers and the shukers coming on nicely, got a shape now and finalized all the woods, along with one or two other things. He was going to get back to me with the top sanded down and the shape drawn on, but as i mentioned the one thing hes terrible is deadlines and that was a month ago. As for my mate as far as i know the hes loving the SR5, i asked him about it a few weeks back and i know he was getting on great with it, plus hes not the sort of person to buy something unless hes 100% happy with it. You being keeping well yourself?
3. Absolutely stunning bass, as Aharon has said i am far from a musicman fanatic, but this one i really liked, best musicman i have played and sounded great, however i just needed the cash. Further more a great guy and a pleasure to meet.
4. bump, still available
5.
Didn't you sell the pickups for this? or did some american guy just offer to buy them?
Hi no its still the original lane poors, an american guy offered to buy them but if you count in buying new pickups then the messing about changing the pups its neither really profitable or worth the effort really so nothing has being changed and the bass is all original.
6.
I have a Warwick Rockstand for 3 basses/g*itars - works well for me, nicely padded. Here is the five instrument version http://www.amazon.co.uk/Warwick-Rockstand-...d/dp/B0002II99E
Hi, ive had the stand before and it was a good stand, y only concern is like with the other stands, will the rubber transfer and react with the white finish on my rick?
7. hi thanks for the replies, i dont know if an inline stand may be better for my house though, also are there any warnings that the rubber on the stands could transfer to the paint on the basses? has anyone tried this stand aswell? :
8. Hi, ive just noticed after living in my new house that im leaving black marks on the walls where im propping my basses all of the time. Frontally the marks just wipe off but i dont want to have to keep doing it (both marking the wall and then consequently having to wipe the marks off :/) so could anyone recommend me a good stand. Ive got 4 basses so i need to be able to get them all on one and also im concerned about the stand material transferring to my white rick so i also need to be certain that there will be no transfer, has anyone got any recommendations please?
9. Hi, are you interested in trades?
10.
I know nothing about them but value is dead easy... what someone is prepared to pay. I'm not trying to be arsey but they are approx $3500 for a new 4 stringer so in the current climate you can slash 50% off that for it being used, even if it is basically 'new'. After that start praying that someone is looking for exactly what you have otherwise the price is going down from there. If you were talking about a well known, desirable manufacturer that has a proven track record of holding value then you could value it differently but mbass? Probably great basses but value is a fickle thing. Just my humble wotsit.
Its very much appreciated and youve addressed my main concern as id never heard of them until the trade was offered. Putting it through xe and halfing the price it works out at about £1300 and for the messing about the trade would be id be hoping for £1500 for it to be worthwhile so probably worth giving this one a miss. Heres some pics: so would we say £1500 is asking too much for this?
11. Looking again the kidney bean thing now makes a lot more sense
12.
Podtastic! " class="ipsImage" />
Ah, sorry i was thinking of the pod pro, sorry im very unfamiliar with line 6 stuff.
13. hi, ive just been offered a mbass on a trade, but as i dont know much about them i dont know how good of a trade it is, does anyone know what there value is secondhand?
14. would you mind posting some pics please?
15.
I'm thinking about trying out the Dean Markely Blue Steels soon, but I can't find a set in Derby. Anybody used them before? Zach Tried a set in a shop once on the store guys recommendation and thought they were awful, didnt like neither the feel or sound, that said ive got a friend who swears by them, i think with strings, like most other things a lot of the time you just have to try them out as while recommendations do help at the end of the day it comes down to your own personal taste.
16. Hi, im finding im having a bit of free time of late so i might take up a few lessons and get my grades under my belt and would like to learn a little more on improvisation, so could anyone recomend a good bass tutor in huddersfield, i know theres a few in leeds and manchester, but i dont have a car and i really dont want to be catching the bus every other week so the closer the better would be great.
17.
Call me a cynic, but he's advertising on the London forum when he's based in Birmingham. And he hasn't bothered to advertise on Birmingham gumtree? Edit: Completed auction on US ebay
Probably imported it from america, forgot to change the voltages and blown it and now trying to offload it to some unlucky fella from gumtree, probably why hes listing in london and not birmingham, so it has to be posted as apposed to being able try it out
18.
Hi I am yet to work out what the best price i can make them for I am hoping to keep them under £50 retail however I don't have any pickguards to copy at the moment so if any of you guys can help me by lending me a guard to copy or tracing round there guard on a cornflake box and posting it to me ill make some prototypes. whoever does this for me i will make them for you at cost as it helps me make my templates Many thanks Dan
PM me if you want a precision guard
19.
One more wouldn't hurt! Yeah the Thumb has forced me to change technique in the right hand as with the small body I've been draping my hand over the top which has led to pains. However I can't see a way around the left hand problem with this instrument. Do the streamer stage 1s have less chunky necks then? If there are models in Warwick's range like this then I would be happy to consider!
Had the same problem with the riht hand on my infinity, it was fine to play the A D and G, but when i came up toe the E it could be very painful, as someone previously mentioned floating thumb is a blessing with these smaller bodied basses
20. Again +1 to the Shure SM58, its the industry vocal mic, especially for live events, its cheap, got a frequency response to flatter most vocals and dam hard to break
21. Hi, im selling my warwick flightcase as while its a great case and absolutly solid, i dont really use it and make do with a gig bag. Looking for £50, ive taken a picture off thomann for the listing, but if anyone wants a pictures of the case itself ill happily take some.
22. Also i would keep it in mind that sinking the pickup would also reduce its output a fair bit, unless you lowered the action as you lowered the pickup
23. Am i the only one who thinks the body shape looks very similar to a G&L ASAT Bass? that said i dont know if the axis guitar was released prior to the ASAT
