  1. Schecter make some nice stuff, I've always fancied getting my hands on one of these: http://www.schecterguitars.com/bass/session/model-t-session-detail
  2. I've done it Dan, sold all of my pedals / power supplies / boards (apart from the EBS Sheehan pedals)......
  3. +1, excellent documentary. Well worth a watch, fan or not!
  4. This would be my only fear......
  5. I'll have to come round for that long overdue cuppa Marc and give it a once over!
  6. Yep, looks OK to me, compare it to the 60's one above it in the article, you can see it's further towards the bridge on the 70's...
  7. When it comes to Fender, there'll always be 2 sides, those who say 'Why don't they do something different?', and when they do, those who say 'Why don't they stick to doing what they do best?'
  8. Gawjus Marc, simply Gaw-jus!!
  9. Yup - I'd say that was the same as the one I was on about. Amazing looking Bass. Congrats!
  10. For me, growl is in the low mids, and bite in the high mids. YMMV!
  11. Thanks, she really is a thing of beauty, aging very nicely indeed, actually the paint is a see-through finish too, which can't be seen at all in that pic. And yes, you're exactly right, I must have thought it was an upgrade at the time, but that ash bodied 77 in the vid a few posts up sounds sooooo good, I think i'll have her on the bench this weekend!
  12. This has got me thinking. My '78, nicknamed 'DeeDee' for the obvious reasons: I put an SPB-3 in it many years ago along with a Badass2 and I loved it so much I've since been scared to change anything... Still have the original pups and bridge, and she doesn't go out gigging anymore. Should I return her to stock?
  13. Oh it's quite possible that it was the non-metallic you mention. It definitely had checkerboard binding, that's what I remember about it the most! And it was blue. Now it really feels like it was 'The one that got away'! I'll console myself with the fact that I most likely would have gone off it and sold it soon after anyway (that's what happened when I bought a 4003 a few years ago).
  14. When I went to my local s/h dealer in the 90's I went to look at 2 Basses he had. One was a 78 Precision and one was a Blue Ric 4001. I had some gear to trade and the deal was I could straight swap what I had for the Precision, or add £50 for the Ric. Tried both and (unsurprisingly) the Precision felt more comfortable. That, plus the fact I didn't have to add the £50 led to me leaving with the Precision. The Ric was beautiful tho, Metallic blue with the checkerboard binding on the body. Dread to think what the return on that would be if I had it now.....
  15. It's true that having good neighbours is valuable. If you really want to try and 'maintain some sort of long term harmony', then I guess you'll have to turn it down a bit. But - It is not late at night and it's not your fault that she is working from home this week. You could just tell her to FO. What would she do if you were having some work done in your house etc?
  16. Ooooof! Very nice indeed!
  17. Cheers Dunc, Ewan, Sean & Cameron!
  18. This is on the custom tone page: https://uk.line6.com/customtone/tone/3295474/ Not tried it personally so i don't know if it's any good or not....
  19. Nice fit for the LT on that pedalboard, do you happen to know the make / model of it?
  20. Have to agree with this. Don't own one but I have played one, It had TI flats on it and it was GAWJUS.
  21. That was where I first heard of him. 61 really is no age at all. RIP.
  22. All of my gigging Basses have Dunlop Super Bright Nickels 45-105. Love em. Low tension, quite bright at first but soon settle in, and for me the tone seems to stay the same for ages after that. Can be got for around £20 delivered and the last set on my main bass lasted for about 4 months before I felt the need to change them. Marvellous! Got a set of TI Flats on my RW Precision but I'm waiting for those to settle before deciding whether I like them.
  23. AFAIK all Big Baby cabs are 8 ohms.
  24. I remember when this was up before, certainly is tempting.. How were the controls modified to accommodate the extra pickup? There doesn't seem to be any extra knobs on there, or are they stack knobs?
