1.
........Volume was really poor overload light flashing even with Gain and Drive at zero (7 o clock) a really distorted sound when pushing the amp for more output.......
I think this pretty much sums it up, serious issue with that amp.
2. Come on folks, serious bit of kit here and it's available for a decent price! Someone also asked if I would courier this, which I can. Insured shipping UPS next day via interparcel came out at about £65.
3. Cheers Kev, I’m drawn to P bass widths these days as you know, it’s a beauty though!
4. What's the nut width on this particular one? 38.5mm?
5. Yep, you can probably get a graphtec nut for that which has pre-cut string slots. May still need a little fettling, which is best left to someone who's done it before.
6. I also read on that facebook posts that they plan to make the modification available as a kit, like they have by selling dedicated 4/12ohm looms for those wishing to change their cabs impedance. They just need to work out how best to make it easily DIY'able for current two10 owners. I know I'll be interested when they do make it available in kit form.
7. Welcome Amy! There's more than a few South Wales folks on here, myself included, so you're in good company, enjoy!
8. Haha, it was a link to an ebay advert which I later found out didn't work. Couldn't find the listing after that to re-link it....
9. A friend of mine has a 5 string Ric. By his own admission, it's rubbish. And it was hugely expensive too.
10. Few trade offers but nothing quite done it yet type bump!
11. Si, I give you my personal guarantee that if I win the euromillions tonight, I will have this. Literally cannot stop looking at the pictures.
12. I'd go with option B - run long cables around the outside of the stage. Another option is Rugs. Run all your cables as normal and then put rugs on top of them.
13. Indeed Karl, I'm only selling coz I've got a ltd3 as well! Wouldn't be without one in the arsenal. Fantastic Basses basses.
14. Admittedly I haven't been through all of the responses on here, but on the recent thread discussing the new iPhone and it's relative cost, I made the point that non-musicians get GAS too, for the latest iPhone / TV / Games Console etc. Basically I was saying that Apple releasing a new iPhone and the so-called 'sheep' queueing around the block for it were no different than Bass players who have a favourite brand 'queueing around the block' for the latest offering from Fender / Darkglass / Insert your favourite manufacturer here'. There were various responses saying how you can't compare Basses / Amps to iPhones, and I was essentially shot down in flames. Fine, it's an open forum and I'm perfectly willing & happy to listen to others points of view. So here we now have a thread where Bass players are justifying the cost of the new Darkglass cabs by comparing them to how Apple (amongst others) market and sell their products. You couldn't make it up!
15.
Try touching each pole piece on the pickup with a metallic object eg small srewdriver with the bass plugged in and amp volume pretty pow but audible. You will get a distintive 'thump' at each polepiece.Does the 'A' thump sound quieter than the other 3?If so,the pickup is at fault.
Yep - This is a much quicker+simpler way of checking!
16. Could be a duff A string? You could test that by swapping the strings around and see if the low volume follows the A string or stays on the 'A' pickup position. Would feel weird but it'll tell you if it's the strings or pickup. If it comes down to getting a replacement, folks seem to love the Fender Custom shop '62 precision pickup (Looks to be around £125 at the moment). Bit pricier than the SPB-3 but very good apparently.
17.
Oh man... SO tempted...
You know you want to!
18. Bump with a Final Price drop to £950. No more price drops, and £950 is for SALE ONLY. Trade value remains at £1100. Cheers!
19. Could be! It's a disaster is what it is!
20. Was there a MIM Squier range? I don't remember there being one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-1998-Fender-Squier-MIM-Transition-Precision-Bass-Neck/112572967417?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140131123730%26meid%3Dc3ebbea4c0d641529b9c20d21de317e2%26pid%3D100167%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D272840575214&_trksid=p5411.c100167.m2940
21. Not sure whats happened to the back of the body, but the rest of it is very nice indeed! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/fender-precision-bass-62-reissue/322785553888?hash=item4b2784ade0%3Ag%3AD3wAAOSwCmNZyqD~
22. Here's a Korean Squier with a bit more age to it - looks all legit this one! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-4-string-P-bass-with-soft-Fender-gig-bag/182790978798?hash=item2a8f30fcee%3Ag%3A6QoAAOSw401ZyrBT
