1.
You said it yourself Artisan and I agree totally. It is a lot of cash for a basic instrument. But if you want a Fender US P bass new, you might have to bite the bullet.
Nope. Buy this: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=12031011241058-546843 So I can stop looking at it.
2. If anyone is looking for one: - http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Barefaced_Super_Compact_12.html Price seems pretty good, condition looks good, looks to have a roqsolid cover too. Not mine! or anyone that I know!
3. Think it's an east german 'Musima' Bass. I spotted one near to me back last year, Bassassassin I.D'd it. Didn't buy it in the end. See my thread below: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 That one finished at £44
4. Don't own one, but I did play through one at The Gallery when I was trying out a bass there. Think it was a Rocker 500 amp into that Ninja Cab. Can't be very technical really (I was trying the bass more than the amp/cab), but I do know it sounded excellent, and I bought the Bass.
5. Was only talking about this yesterday. We were also saying it was daft. 16 songs of the 'official' top 20 being by one artist? Just ridiculous. Does anyone actually take any notice of the charts any more? Do they even still do the 'top 40' on Sunday evening on Radio 1? (honest question, I don't know). I'm assuming not. If they do it must make for a great listen at the moment, with the last hour+ being all one artist.
6. First to last hole centres on a babicz (fender fit) are 2.76in / 70mm. Measure that on your Bass and it should let you know if your in the ball park. Screw holes in between are equidistant so you can work out where they should be. http://www.fullcontacthardware.com/fch-4-bass-specs.htm
7. Got an Ashdown ABM1000, TC BH250, Barefaced two10. Also got a line 6 lowdown 15watt for home use. None of them get much action due to me using in-ears mainly nowadays!
8.
Barefaced Supercompact gets my vote - compared to the Midget and 110 it has a more rounded quality to it.
Only thing to be wary of with the Supercompact is that it's somewhat limited in the top end. Essentially the Littlemark's treble control (10khz) has little or no effect going through a supercompact (max 4khz).
9.
So all these were just for show? Aaawww...
Indeed - Good though innit. He must've been knackered loading all them in and out.
10.
I really don't know why they even make 4ohm cabs. The advantage of slightly more output power seems negated by never being able to add another cab IME. *Assuming 4ohm minimum load, obviously
THIS. The only 4ohm cabs worth having are 8x10s / Trace BFC type 'all in one cabs'.
11. Similar to a thread I started - the best advice / answer I had was only sell if you have to. If you like the Jazz and can afford to keep it, then keep it. It is however, commendable if you can stick to a one in - one out rule. I definitely can't. I'm up to 8 Basses now. And I like them all for different reasons. Letting go of any would be difficult.
12.
Nice bass but the knobs are not original and I don't think the bridge is original (should be black) I have the same bass in pearl white.
I think the bridge is Black, it's just worn. Like the rest of the bass, which I have to say looks very rough. Certainly been in the wars....
13. Two words that REALLY don't belong in the same sentence i'm afraid. GAS and Logic. One has little or nothing to do with the other.
14. One covers band I know around my neck of the woods has a father and son who cover Bass and Guitar duties, and they usually swap half time.
15. IIRC, the bodies were Poplar, so it shouldn't be heavy. Let see what the OP says.
16. No, I definitely do not need to own 3 Yamaha Attitude ltds. Really, I don't. Honest now, I don't. This one is geographically really close to me.
17. Says in his sig that he's based in Greece.
18. Well, what I can say is that before Barefaced, I also used Ashdown cabs, and my amp was an evo2 abm300, then an ABM1000. The BF 10in cabs are much closer to sounding like Ashdown cabs than their 12in cabs are.
19.
Ha! Yeah, I've been having a very stern word with myself all day about this. This wont be here long...
Yep, have to say I think it looks great with the white pearl pickguard too. Agreed, I don't think this'll take long to sell..
20. Spectacular Basses. I had the 5'er for a while. If I had Stingray GAS at the moment my resolve would be tested.
21.
I'm confused as to why you would only have four Jazz basses?
The guitar rack in my house only has 8 slots. It's full.
