  1. Lovely Job Andy! Looks the business. Always impressed by the sound of these too..
  2. I'll just add 'I'm hungry' to that...
  3. Honestly - If I had the money there, and I really wanted something, and felt it was priced realistically, I'd buy it. No limit.
  4. Just checked Thomann and the LPB is currently £306. I've already got one of the China made CV's in the Fiesta Red, so I certainly don't need another good Squier, but goodness me it's pretty...
  5. I sold this Bass to Ed and it was me who did all the detective work with Fender to find out about the factory mess up with the neck. No reason to be concerned at all regarding the provenance, deal with confidence! It's a great Bass. GLWTS Ed!
  6. Those are definitely SPB-3's / Quarter Pounders Dave - You can tell by the size of the Pole Pieces. Lovely Bass, stick a mirror pickguard on there and get your Maiden Tribute band going! GLWTS!
  7. As it would be with or without the WHU crest on it, which was my original point in response to Lozz, it IS off-putting for many. More to the point, ANY P Bass, be it black, white, red, blue or sunburst is just a paint job. We all have our preferences. I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't consider aesthetics AT ALL when buying a guitar / bass.. The SH sig also has the Mirror Pickguard, and I think now his SPB-4 Seymour Duncan pickup, plus his signature rotosound Flatwounds. All unique to that model..
  8. Bought some tuners from Simon - great comms and everything went really smoothly, deal with confidence! Cheers Simon!
  9. Agreed Loz - Fender should take note of this type of approach and drop the West Ham crest from the Steve Harris sig.
  10. Bought a stunning Yamaha Bass from Andy - deal was done very smoothly and pickup went as planned (just a shame neither of us really had any time for a chat!), couldn't ask for more, cheers Andy!
  11. That's stunning Andy! - I wonder if that will arrive before I come to collect the Yamaha from you... And if so will I be allowed to even look at it?!?! Seriously tho - Beautiful Bass!
  12. Gulp! And I'm up in Manchester next Friday 26th.....
  13. My first venture into Barefaced Cabs was to order 2 Super Compacts (2015ish I think). I'd been forced into getting some new gear as I'd joined a very busy function band and after a few months my old ABM300 evo2 had started behaving weirdly. So I thought as I was gigging regularly 2-3 times every weekend I'd go for a whole new lightweight rig. Ended up with a Tecamp PUMA 500 and the 2 Super Compacts. Gigged that for a while but my issue was that the rig was almost too transparent for my ears! The Tecamp was super clean and the super compacts really do put out whatever is put into them with very little or no colour at all. Tried an Ashdown ABM1000 instead (swapped for the Tecamp) and that was better for my taste but still not quite right. So - I found someone (maybe it was on here, I don't remember) who had a two10 and was looking for a Super compact, and did a straight swap. Sold the other Super compact, then somewhere along the line got the TC RH750 and that's the rig I've used since. The TC and the two10 really work well together for me.
  14. Ah Shame that Nick, but like I said earlier, I don't think you'll have much trouble shifting it.
  15. Good decision IMO. It would bug me for sure!
  16. If I was being SUPER fussy - I'd say go for a black Bridge and Black Knobs too!
  17. That is lovely! If it doesn't work out for you I wouldn't think you'll have much trouble shifting it.
  18. Thanks for that, I can be a bit heavy handed but also like my action as low as possible, so finding the right strings and then getting the setup correct for me is always fun! I've found Dunlop superbrights are the perfect roundwound for me, but the search for the right flatwounds goes on!
  19. Lovely, one bass missing from my arsenal is 50's style P and I'd love to have one. Out of curiosity, do you know how the labella low tension flats compare with TI flats? I've tried TI's on a few of my basses and wanted to enjoy them but they're sooooo low tension, just can't get on with them..
  20. The first UK Lockdown in 2020 was a turning point for me. I had done my last gig in Feb / March 2020 just before the pubs closed, then I remember during August they were talking about re-opening the pubs and I realised after 5/6 months off, I hadn't missed gigging at all, which had to be telling me something, right? So I made the decision to quit the bands I was in there and then. As it turned out, live music wasn't allowed in the pubs anyway, so I hadn't left anyone in the lurch, so to speak.
  21. I think these 40th Ann. models are stunning. Like someone else above said, I too think they'll become sought after like the early CV models. The Blue P-Bass in particular is really nice.
  22. I've had all the ones I've wanted over the years - The Sparkly blue Steve Harris Fender from 2009-ish, 3 Yamaha Attitudes, Fender Geddy Lee, 80's MIJ Jazz Bass specials (not sig models I know, but bought because I was a huge Duff Fan). The only one I've got now is the Bass Centre Guy Pratt Betsy Jazz..
  23. I remember having one of these back in the day. Loved it, the only thing I did was move the carrying handle from the top to the side which made carrying it a lot easier..
