Surprised by how this thread is turning out. I know the OP asked for help, and advice has been given, but there's not much real encouragement going on here..which is not what I've come to expect from BC. I know some folks take this stuff VERY seriously, and thank goodness for the knowledge!, but come on guys, surely there's no harm in the OP finishing the cab off and seeing how it sounds? What's the worst that could happen? He'll definitely achieve the result of getting full whack out of his amp and who knows? He might really like how the cab sounds, other people might like it, other people might ask him to build them one, he might start his own business..... I for one commend Shrek on having a go, Well done matey!

Is anybody getting bored of "reliced" instruments?

Every time I try a bass with flats on, I always find the high tension unbearable. These might be an option to stick on one of my Basses for a trial. Then again I suspect Labella = expensive!
@LewisK1975 OI! I thought we said no negativity! Don't spoil my new present
Haha, sorry fella, enjoy your MarloweDK, it'll be a top Bass for sure. I think if we bring this back to the OP's original point, 'Is anybody getting bored of reliced instruments?', you can't ignore the fact that Fender have been doing the Roadworn stuff for pushing 10 years now? (think they started in either 2007 or 2008). We all know that Fender wouldn't continue making something that wasn't shifting units. So folks are still buying them 10 years down the line. Whilst I think the RRP on these is insane at the moment, to me they represent a good deal secondhand. -

Like a few here, I've got the Fender Roadworn stuff, Precision and Jazz in sunburst, and the Flea bass. I do actually like the look of them, but for me what they do really well is (as has already been mentioned) feel like they've been played in. The necks are really comfy (to me anyway). I also like the nitro finishes on them. Also like Highfox mentions, if it does happen to get a 'new' knock or two, you ain't crying into your post gig kebab. I own a genuine '78 Precision (had for donkeys) and a genuine '75 Jazz too, also both great instruments in their own right and feel played in due to their actual age. For me, like I've tried to articulate, it's mainly about the feel of playing a worn instrument. Does it really matter if that feel has been achieved via wear that has been done over many years, or 'accelerated' in a factory? I say not, YMMV! Just to add - I've also had a Sandberg VM hardcore aged, and to me that was the 'fakest' of the lot. A great bass?, certainly. But the relicing on those is purely about the look, they still feel like you're playing a brand new instrument. If I was getting another Sandberg, I'd be avoiding the relic models. -
It looks 'remarkably' like Frank Bello's ESP signature Jazz Basses: http://www.espguitars.com/products?categories=frank-bello

Got one of these as a backup. Wouldn't hesitate to use it if my sansamp (ever) fails. Only my own stupid Brand Snobbery stops me having it on my pedal board permanently.

Power supply-wise it really depends on how much you want to spend. The main things to consider are how many pedals you're going to run and the amount of current draw they have. More expensive power supplies, like the voodoo lab PP2 have isolated grounds for each of the outputs, which some people will want. Also considering you've bought a pedatrain, would you want to mount the power supply underneath it? If it's only a couple of pedals and they don't draw too much current, and you're not bothered about mounting the supply underneath your board, then something like the one-spot power supply with a daisy-chain will do it, nice and cheaply. Personally, I got the voodoo lab PP2, because I had a Pedaltrain JR, wanted to mount underneath, and wanted a power supply which you just plugged a kettle lead into, plus it also has the isolated grounds, and it always works 100% silently. It's not cheap though, but can be got s/h for around £100-ish. I'm sure a few other folks will be along shortly with more options for you.
Surprised to hear this, I've ordered 3 roqsolid covers for my Barefaced cabs and they've all been perfect.

If 1 in 3 had been wrong we'd have changed years ago! But we sell a lot of covers and even 1 a month wrong is annoying, especially if it's gone to an overseas customers.
Ha ha, Point taken, I should have expanded my statement by saying that I also have not heard any other complaints about roqsolid covers until I read this thread..
Sorry to hear about this - QC problems like this were one reason we changed manufacturer. If you'd let us know at the time we'd have been able to get this exchanged with Roqsolid for a correctly made cover.
I got Mark at Limelight to build me a PJ bass - it's based on Adam Clayton's signature fender (for purely cosmetic reasons!) so it's like a 66 Jazz, green with matching headstock, pearloid PG, butterbean tuners, rosewood necks with blocks, PJ pickups and I asked for the controls to be Master Vol/Blend/Tone which is my much preferred to Vol/Vol/Tone. It's an outstanding bass, sounds beautiful, looks awesome and it's been my preferred bass on tour over a 71 P, 75 Jazz and USA deluxe Jazz.
And now there's a new limited run of Fenders emphasising blemishes... like this Strat http://www.pmtonline...ocaster-natural
Geez! Now I quite like relic'ed guitars, but that is a whole other level and I think its' awful.

My advice would be to steer clear of it for now until it's resolved one way or another. All that's really happened so far is that you've been made aware that this guy is more than likely going to be fired, and if he is then you might be in with a shout. Leave it at that until they've done whatever they end up doing. Then you've no need to feel bad if you do get the job. I agree that there's no harm in learning their current stuff. It might even turn out by doing that, you may realize it's not for you anyway. And if you do get the job, don't feel bad about it for one second, there's plenty of other guys out there who wouldn't give it a second thought. Better you up on stage in a festival than one of them. Good luck to you..

Signed. Still need 70k more signatures to get it debated though...
Looks-wise I couldn't agree more, but it prictice it counter the old P+J mix problem you here folk talk a lot about.
I'm afraid I'm very shallow when it comes to my Basses, yes they need to play great and sound great, but they REALLY need to look great as well.
Isn't there a JV in the classifieds that's been modified to dual P? Dustandbarley I think?
Yeah, spotted that one Karl, decent price too. Unfortunately a rosewood fingerboard again.
...or go the ezbass RW with dual P route...
