I'm not a Fuzz fan really, but I couldn't help notice how the EBS Fuzzmo pedal has been dramatically reduced in price in a few places... https://www.amazon.co.uk/EBS-FuzzMo-High-Distortion-Pedal/dp/B00GMY1RR8

Hey Steve, welcome from another South Wales inhabitant... Like Funkshui says above, stay away from the marketplace on here if you want to stay sane!
Sold Lewis my Fender Road Worn Jazz bass and the whole transaction was carried out smoothly and in a timely manner. Communication was prompt and respectful throughout. Cannot recommend Lewis highly enough. Enjoy the bass my friend and I hope to deal with you again in the future.
Cheers Dave! The pleasure was all mine!

My alignment OCD only kicks in if the strings aren't equidistant and centered on the neck. Pole piece alignment doesn't bother me unless it adversely affects the individual string volumes...YMMV!

Pedaltrain 1(old model). Where to find a soft case?
LewisK1975 replied to eddiehoffmann's topic in Effects
They do show up on Ebay periodically. Pedaltrain don't sell the cases (hard or soft) separately so you won't find them in any shops.. -
I've been using the TC spectracomp for some time now. Only use it on the standard 'out of the box' setting and I'm finding it really very good indeed. Anything up to midday gives you mild compression with some fattening of the sound and going past midday gets you more into the 'limiting' side of things. Of course it's all pretty subjective, as every compressor will react differently depending on the player. But certainly, the toneprint editor for the TC means you can pretty much alter ANY parameter, so technically, you should be able to get something out of it that suits you..

I'd say Yes, this is on their FAQ's: Can I use my Markbass amp in countries with different voltages? No! Your amp/combo was manufactured to be sold and used in the country of purchase, and is factory preset to that country's voltage. If you use it in a country with a different voltage without using a power converter, it will not work and may be seriously damaged. So the voltage would be the same, maybe ask MarkBass themselves via email? I don't know what their response time is like, mind you.
Have supported name touring acts a few times & have had a proper sound check with full monitors & reasonable room on stage on some occasions & a last minute line check with no room (not allowed to move anything) no monitors at all on others depends who you are supporting. Soundpeople have always done their best under the circumstances & we were always professional & got on with it despite the difficulties imposed. No moaning or the soundpeople lose sympathy very quickly. Some headliners were unaware there a support band & others were very friendly & approachable. Every gig was different & we always did our best to put on a show. But yes, welcome to the music industry, you know exactly what rung of the ladder you are on!
Here speaks the voice of experience, gents. This should be the last post on this thread, it contains everything you need to know. But it's not, because this post is.

Use a lighter touch and let the amp do the work. Even the more 'beastly' bassists you could think of play with a lighter touch than you might imagine.
..........When I know a gig has supplied backline the 'artiste' part of me will whinge about not having 'my sound' or whatever but the rest of me is really, really happy for the 5 minute tear down!
Haven't done a shared backline for many years, but as I read this, I chuckled, remembering how I used to just unplug my bass, put it in its case and go back into the crowd. Lovely.
Surely if the support act sounds good more people will want to stay for the main act? Otherwise just put an iPod on shuffle until the main band goes on, why screw someone over who is there to provide a good chunk of the entertainment. I can accept when its a festival and the sound guys are dealing with a conveyer belt of different bands they will do their best without fine tuning but to get the support act right then screw them to make the main band sound better is b.s.
All this is of course true, but lets not forget, from the dog and duck, through to Madison Square Garden, music events are peppered with insecure, egotistical musicians, who live in fear of being upstaged and will go to many lengths to ensure they are not..YMMV!
....Arrived late, and with a mountain of their own gear that they insisted on playing through......
This is the key line in the post. I wouldn't have cared how 'insistent' they were, if it were me, they would have played through the shared backline, or not at all!
The role in my last two bands seems to have been to develop an intense (& mutual) hatred of the keyboard player & then leave.
Weird - Ashdown's customer support is usually excellent. I'll PM you.

Fender 2013 USA Jazz Deluxe for £ 450 on GumTree..?!!!
LewisK1975 replied to bubinga5's topic in Bass Guitars
Certainly looked liked the real deal, I'd say someone got a bargain, or as said above, a stolen guitar. -
.........I take my gear (Dingwall, Shuker, Bergs, Mesa, etc) to all the gigs, regardless. If it's lairy, I stay closer, but as someone mentioned, I've had more mither at posh weddings than skanky pubs.
This!. Pub crowds are usually OK, it's when you do the private functions, there tend to be more people pushing the employer / employee angle, and thinking that they've a right to access the stage, grab mics, complain about volume / song choice etc. But, they do usually pay more, so you deal with it..or don't do those type of gigs. YMMV!

Bass Player, Backing Vocals, load in/out (with other band members), setup and tear down of PA, FOH sound (controlled from stage with direction from the mrs out front). Wish I was our singer, who's role is as follows - get in van at home, get out of van 2 mins before stage time, sing gig, get the money, get back in van, get out of van at home. She's a great singer mind you. And books the gigs. I was only thinking this morning of starting a similar thread asking how many of us have responsibility of controlling the PA / Mixer..
It's unfortunate that this seems to be a thing, but a thing it appears to be. I've been suspicious of it for some time now. I've even fallen victim to it once. One of the comments has been that if you're nice to sound guys then they're nice to you but unfortunately this hasn't always been the case for me. I arrived at a summer festival gig where we were supporting another band. I went to the sound desk straight away, introduced myself, spent time talking to them both and asked how THEY wanted to do things. We set out a plan of attack but I gave them the lead and I was polite at all times. We set up and did a very long sound check, fine-tuned everything and it was sounding perfect, I was delighted with the sound and they were really helpful and took time to pay attention to the details. We started the show, and they'd changed everything! It was muddy, could hardly hear the vocals, the kick drum was non-existent, and it had previously been perfect. I was asking for things to be tweaked between songs over the mic, the sound guys wouldn't make eye contact with me just kept giving the thumbs up, but no noticeable difference was made to the sound while we were playing. The main act came on and guess what? Absolutely pristine sound. I went straight to the sound desk to ask what had happened, and their reply was 'welcome to the music industry.' After I had been dragged away by the rest of the band and calmed down, I ended up feeling really disappointed that there were people who would deliberately sabotage a live performance because we weren't the 'main band.' I was polite, friendly and helpful to them from the word go but they screwed our set up regardless without batting an eyelid. Not only is this unfair on the support band and the audience, but surely this is unprofessional in the extreme?
Have a look at post #2:
We supported a 2Tone band recently and when chatting to the sound guy he apologised in advance, as the headline band stipulated no PA subs till they came on
I'd suggest there's a fairly good chance it wasn't the sound guys fault - he could well have been under instruction from the headliners or someone else to have a poor mix for the support band(s)..gutting either way, but there's plenty of evidence, even just in this thread, to show that it does happen.

Isn't this the same model from this thread? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/296386-preparing-for-battle/ Still a bargain at £550 in the condition you describe! Well done!

Yeah - it's ineresting to see how the site came to be! I think I found the site when looking for advice on new cabs. I'd been using the same Bass and Amp setup for the previous 9 years. That didn't last long!
It still seems to be up at that price. http://www.dv247.com...al-flat--216521
In that case, having had communication about the price, I find it difficult to have sympathy with the shop, but the OP's gone quiet on this?

I have the BH250, I use it with a Barefaced 210 on gigs where we can't fit the full PA in so just go vocals only PA + backline. The BH amps are excellent value and plenty loud enough. Toneprint feature is excellent, I just have it set on the regular spectracomp and dial it up to between 11 and 1 depending on which Bass I'm using. Great stuff! The baked in tone of the BH is spot on for my money - only ever adjust the knobs between 11 and 1 on those too. Good purchase!
